04+ are all the same, I don't think they changed anything after that.
that being said... why a yoshi? to me, they sound like a louder stock version on MOST bikes... not really a tone change.
I think two bros sound the best, but for the GS to really come alive with rich sound, you gonna have to get rid of that Y section pipe, and run each pipe independently.

keep it stock.. trust me. I ran a straight piped 646 and SV650 and commuted on them both... Pretty sure I have a loss of hearing from them both! the louder the bike, the harder it becomes to use a commuter. Plus coming home at 3 AM on a bike that screams "IM HERE!!!!!!" just makes you "that guy"
honestly I have no problem with the Stock GS exhaust.
I'd keep it stock as well.
If you want a different tone, just drill out 4 to 6 holes of 1/8"-1/4" dia in the exhaust pot. It'll give a bit more noise standing still, and a bit more free flow (less restrictive) at high speeds.

false loud pipes don't do crap. I don't hear straight piped Harley's in stand still traffic until they a directly next to me. the sound is BEHIND the bike, not in front of it. and I would gladly ask a friend for a video of him doing 80 and me going past at 140 with a straight piped inline four. WITH his windows down. he doesn't hear me until I'm right next to him + past him.
loud bikes just make you "that guy" I have nothing against them. but the stupid saying "loud bikes saves lives" is just that - stupid.
If you wan't something that saves lives, keeping your tire pressure right + having the right tire for your bike. also having proper brakes. And HIGH vis helmets and jackets. and of course riding defensive, getting plenty of sleep, and knowing your limits.
This is the exhaust from a GSXR 1000. It took a little work to get it to fit, but hey it's on there and sounds great.

I'll have to figure out how to post that so the sound comes through. Also that exhaust was like $90 from ebay. My friend has a welder so that part was free. I bought one $1 connector exhaust piece from AutoZone. I'll have to look at the receipt to see the sizes.

+1 for the loud pipes piss everyone off rant. I was hiking in the Adirondacks and 5 km away from any road on top on a mountain you could hear the straight pipe Harley guys ruining everybody else's experience.

I'm gonna disagree here with the sentiment that a Yoshi is too loud.
I have a Yoshi and its not that loud with the baffle in. It is definitely a deeper tone with a growl, but not obnoxiously loud.
Loud pipes don't save lives, however. Alert and able riders save themselves.

A good helmet actually lets as much ambient sound through as possible, save for wind noise.
You will not want to buy a helmet where your hearing is impaired;
I don't know why someone would take away one of their senses when riding, it just adds to the danger.
I agree with most that loud pipes, are just as stupid as a closed helmet that doesn't let any sound through. Sometimes it's better to hear the few decibels of sound on your right blind spot, than not..
Loud pipes, and a silent helmet will mute those few decibels you could have heard with a good helmet, and a silent bike!

As others have said, they're the same. I personally think the Yoshi is a nice sounding pipe. It just purrs.
I have a full Jardine on mine, but definitely would've sprung for a full Yoshi if they still made one today.
