I have 2004 gs 500 the carbs on it have what looks like
little vaccum pods on the top of the vaccum chambers
which are hooked to the vaccum line and after taking them apart
they have small diaphrams in them.they seem to comtrol the lifting of the
slides. question what are these carbs.
Check out the exploded diagrams online. This one at bike bandit labels the parts for you. the gs500 factory service manual explains how they work, too.

looking at diagram from bike bandit makes no sence lines from pots on vaccum covers go no where I don't know if they should be open or be vaccum lines to pots on vaccum covers.
I think the pots need vaccum to operate the slides. any help. thank you Bill

The vacuum line from ontop of the engine goes into the airbox.
the vacuum line coming from the slides, has a little sponge filter that attaches to them. via a T connector.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the question was what these carbs where.
I believe they're Mikuni carbs. Anyone else probably can chime in with model number...
