Title: 6 piston or 4 piston front caliper?
Post by: GS500Schultz on February 15, 2015, 09:16:55 PM
hey guys,

I'm trying to get an idea for a which brakes I should retro fit to my GS500 and I will have a few brackets made by the custom's shop I work with.

I'm looking at either the 6 Piston Busa/zzr600 caliper

or a 4 piston caliper

Three is a sexy number. Just for looks alone, personally, it's the 6 piston all the way. Are there any other factors you're looking at while choosing?

the only real factor you will need to take into account is your stock master cylinder not being "strong" enough. Although I've seen people run the CBR F1 calipers with a stock GS master and no real complaints.

I have an after market that is meant for dual 4 piston calipers so I think i'll be just fine with just a single 6 piston or 4 piston caliper.

I guess i'll have both brackets made and test each caliper and give feedback.
