Title: LED Gauge Cluster replacement 'bulb'
Post by: Elmojo on February 18, 2015, 09:38:43 PM
FYI, for anyone trying to find an easy (and cheap) replacement for the tachometer / speedometer gauges, I found a good option.
These from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BFSYIDG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) fit perfectly, and only cost $6 for a pack of 4, if you have Prime for free shipping.
I got the white ones, and they are MUCH brighter and whiter (duh) than the OEM bulbs.
As with all LEDs, the have polarity, so make sure you flip on the switch to verify they're lit before reassembling your gauges.
If not, spin the LED 180 degrees and it should light.
I didn't have my phone with me this evening, but I'll try to add a photo later if anyone's interested.

These aren't for the Later models are they? They changed the bulbs to some REALLY weird size on the later models.

TBH, I just replaced my bulbs... with bulbs.... I was gonna do LED's. but to me, they are bright and distracting while riding. and reflect off of things. It works on some bikes and setups and looks really clean. the GS... I'll just keep my dull bulbs.

Mine is a '94 model, so they should fit most versions.
These are brighter than stock, but not by a ton. It's mostly just a whiter light.
I agree about most LEDs being too bright for safety, but I think these will be ok.
