Title: Considering buying a Panasonic product? Read this first.
Post by: Kijona on March 19, 2015, 01:41:23 PM
So I was perusing BestBuy's website, looking for a TV to go in my new home. I was browsing through the Q&A section for a Panasonic TV when I saw a question about turning off "Banner Ads". I thought "surely not..there is no WAY that they've integrated advertisement into the TV". Sure enough, a quick Google search turned up this article:

I will never buy a Panasonic product for as long as I live. They've opened the flood gates and now, mark my words, other companies are going to start doing it. This is the reason why I don't have cable TV and pay for streaming services instead - I'm not PAYING to watch advertisements.

I feel very strongly about advertising. I think that there should be a legal limit to the amount of horseshit that is forced upon us on a daily basis. Advertising has become invasive and harmful to our every day lives.

There is only one app that I tolerate an ad from and that is Showbox. That's because I can cast all the newest TV shows for free but if I was paying for streaming netflix they would get dropped quick! I hate advertisements with all of my heart mind and soul! I DVR everything if it's not on Showbox and fast-forward through the garbage. Nothing you force on me will get me to buy your product!

Panasonic in the world of audio equipment is a company that has a bad rap. They are not 100% cheapo crap, like Yorx or soundesign but they are well known to be high priced, but relatively crappy for that $$$.

I dont have a single panasonic item I am proud to say.

Cool.
