Title: replacing shift shaft
Post by: supersilas on April 14, 2015, 03:28:13 PM
so i need to replace my shift shaft after all.  it's binding on the clutch cover making it not return after shifting. i know i have to tear apart the right side of the engine to get it out.    besides the gasket what else should i replace and or need to do the job right?  also with replacing the shaft should i buy a new one($50) or a used but guaranteed one($14)?

Is there any way this shaft can be cold bent,as it only has a small degree of travel and IMO doesn't need to be ABSOLUTELY straight......perhaps an engineering shop has suggestions.

already ordered parts plus book doesn't recommend trying to bend back as it could damage other internals.
