Title: Is it possible to adjust float height w/o removing carbs?
Post by: newbie1993 on April 22, 2015, 04:33:05 AM
Have any of you tried measuring and/or adjusting float height while your carbs were still on the bike. Like just removing the float bowls and doing it that way? If so, what was your method and how did it turn out for you. Im only asking because float height is literally my only issue and I'm tired of talking the carbs off over and over unless the need cleaning

It's easy to check height. Use clear hose from the drain and hold it up next to the carb. Open the drain and see how far the fuel flows up the hose.
It's possible to adjust float height and even rejet without removing the carbs, If your hands are small enough. People have done it. Personally I added a K&N Lunch box to get rid of the stock air box because I thought removing and reinstalling the airbox was the most difficult part of pulling the carbs off.

I successfully adjusted float height without removing the carbs. But sadly that wasn't my issue. I'm almost certain the needle seat o rings have gone bad. Other than the online sites, is there a store I can go to and buy o rings that will fit?
