So yesterday I did a rejet. Fortunately, all I had to do was drop in the jets and it runs perfectly. No flat spots or bogging down anywhere in any gear. I have a K&N Lunchbox with a Delkevic Short pipe. It is a 2005 GSF.
I found a couple issues when I was working on it. In the past I tried to figure out where everything went. I mostly have, but some stuff is broken so I need parts. I found where the broken T-fitting attaches to on the carbs. My bike runs fine with it out but I want to get everything that way it is supposed to be. On the right hand side of the bike, The vacuum line fits on a white piece on the carb that is broken. I looked at parts diagrams and can't find where the part is so that I can order it. Also, on the left hand side of the carb, there is another T-fitting that is just open, with no vacuum lines on it. I am assuming it went to the pair system but my bike doesn't have a pair system. Since it is just open, can I just cap that off???
Last question is....
When I took off the breather hose to the air box, there is some white gooey substance. It is sort of booger looking. I am assuming that this substance is a problem. What can I do to prevent it? Or what is it? I did a valve clearance check about a month ago and it wasn't there. Did I reinstall the breather wrong?
Thank You!

:whisper: He said white and gooey
The end that is in the little hose belongs on that white cap. Basically its broken. Its a POS design, I see it broken all the time. Plug the white part and the hose. You now have only 1 side of vacuum, which is wholly OK to open the petcock. But past that, you may be in trouble. Look for someoen selling that fitting, or a whole carb.
Cool.
Buddha.
So they don't sell just that plastic piece??? And where can I buy new vacuum lines???
Have you checked bikebandit.com?
I did check bike bandit but didn't see it on their diagram??
I just looked. Seems liked you'd have to buy the whole diaphragm assembly cover. Which is pretty pricey on my K4.
Try to get one from somebody on the forum in the For Sale section, or just get a whole set of carbs for parts. You can usually get them for a good deal.
So I'm planning on fishing that piece out of the hose, and then using something like liquid weld to put it back into place. Hopefully that would work.
Also if you look at the last picture, that white piece is on the left carb (if your looking at it while sitting on the bike). It doesn't have any vacuum lines going to it and nothing is not connected. There never was a PAIR system on my bike (as determined from a previous thread) and i feel like it should go to that system. Since i don't have the system, do I just block it off? or is there another hose that is missing? Thank you again!
I found this image off of another thread
To give them credit, it is this thread: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=63784.0
I couldn't find the answer i was looking for.
On the far right side (circled), that is the broken piece.
On the inner right side (Not circled), that piece is fine.
On the inner left side (Circled), That piece is also fine.
On the far left side (Not really shown in this picture) is just open and I can't find where that goes.
Hope this helps.

Tough fiddly fix trying to glue that back on there! Plus get a good seal AND have the tube hollow! ...
I'm sure it has been attempted in another thread on here.... can't recall results though...
It didn't break cos it was fresh new plastic! .. looks kinda fatigued and old... probably brittle too... have a go at it for sure but ...
I'd be sourcing a set of carbs for use as parts/reference guide... someone with a whole 'box o bits' maybe? ...
And maybe try asking around over at gsresources forum. .. just gives you some more scope/people to check with!
okay. Im planning on sticking a paperclip through the hole to make sure the hole stays there. Also, any idea where the far left one goes to??? Thanks
I can take you a picture of my set up when I get home if you don't have it figured out by then.
Okay thank you so much! I'm mainly questioning the far left connector because I know where the rested them go! Thank you!
One vacuum tube connects to the right hand nipple of the left side assembly if you're sitting on the bike. You should have one tube left over that'll slide over that nipple.
Sorry, I'm a liar. Just got home and the electricity is out from a particularly bad storm this morning. Too dark for those pictures.
Its okay. And I lied too! I actually found that I have two opened ports. The ones circled in red are open and don't have connections. The lines in blue are what I have. Am I connecting the two that are open??? Ill have to go to the store to get lines though.

That picture is exactly proper. Shouldn't need another line. That's how mine looks.
Hook up the blues and you should be well on your way
So blues are already hooked up. Just attach the Reds???
Nah, leaves the reds alone. Don't need to hook anything to them, I think. My reds are blank on my bike and it runs well enough
Should I cap them or leave them open?
Sorry, can't answer that for sure. Mine are uncapped. Doesn't mean it's correct
Okay thank you. I guess I'll look more into it. At least I'm not the only one with them open. I'm just uncomfortable with open ends like that. Whatever I guess! Haha! Thank you!

If you look at his carbs in the first and third pictures, they are both open. Guess it runs like that!
