I removed my carbs about a week ago to rejet them.
Rejet to 147.5 main and 20 pilot. 3 turns out on the AFR screws with a lunch box filter and a 9" Delkevic exhaust.
Ever since I've replaced them and set them properly, Eleanor just hasn't been running the same.
The idle is set to about 1300 RPM right now, but it's uneasy. Needle slowly moves between a 100-300 RPM range instead of keeping a steady RPM.
Another issue I've noticed since the rejet is that in top gear, Eleanor feels like she's running out of gas and it's time to switch to reserve. Even on a full tank. I feel loss of power, maybe like misfires. The bike slows, goes, slows, goes. Kinda lurches, but it's a very subtle effect. When this is happening I don't see the tach needle moving at all, seems steady. However, I do seem to notice some bleeding of speed on the speedometer.
This may happen in other gears too, but I haven't noticed it. Very noticable in 6th gear at a constant RPM.
Not quite sure what the cause is, or where to look for a cause.
this happens on GS's and most carbed bikes when they are slightly unbalanced. I know that the feeling is weird, makes you feel like you're crazy because from the outside perspective the bike looks like its moving fine. :technical:
