Hi All,
First time poster here! Many thanks to the admins and forum participants for helping me towards reaching my goal of getting a recently purchased motorcycle running. This probably wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for the information found on this website. :)
My project is a 2007 GS500F and I am in the process of replacing fork seals. The lower fairings were already in sad shape being previously cracked and airbrushed, and the bike took a spill at my friends taking out a corner of the upper fairings as well. I am already looking into getting the bike naked but can't find a GS500 headlamp. I've located fork mounts and rabbit ears and would like to incorporate them into the modification.
Has anyone used a HardDrive 7" Chrome Assembly and can it fit on the factory rabbit ears??? The specifications given are, Mounts: 6 3/4" from mounting point to mounting point. Use 8mm Bolts (not included) and
Depth: 6 1/2" from front of light to rear point. A link for one can be found here:

If anyone has other headlight options please post them. I am also interested in buying an original headlamp assembly if any are available (PM me).
acerbis makes DOT legal headlights that "strap" to your forks :dunno_black: Very easy install. I think they have 3 models that are street legal, $70-120.
I just ebayed "gs500 headlight" and filtered out all the new stuff. The very 1st listing was a stock headlight from a 90' - $50
Thanks for the information.
I was able to replace the front fork seals last night. Now I can focus on getting the bike running smoother. In the meantime, I'm relying on the stock headlight until I'm certain that I won't get stranded in the middle of nowhere.
Great choice on making it nekkid :thumb: I bought my headlight from a member on here, I'm certain there is a parts whore that has one on here. Good luck
