Title: exedra? Decent for touring long distances?
Post by: junk301 on May 02, 2015, 04:29:53 PM
I have a new set of exedras lying at home given to me by a friend who stopped riding.  Ive searched it up on the forum and looks like the exedras have been bashed by the lot of ya. Question is, should I install them for a trip I'm doing or just toss em and grab a better pair? The Exedras are practically new by the way.

Cheers

I haven't ridden on them, but to me, free rubber is free rubber. Save your cash and use them. That's just what I would do.

If they are not only unused but also produced recently, they're at least minimally safe and free is a good price. I'd use them, keeping in mind their limitations and mine (they'd significantly reduce my chances of winning the Bol D'Or, for example).

I don't recall if I ever went on a trip with my Excedras, that was 60K+ Km ago, around 40K miles, but never liked the feeling of changing lanes over white stripes with them. Later did some traveling with better ruber, even with heavy rain, so I'd put a fresh pair of grippy tires before going out. Let Excedras for commuting.
