Title: new tank and vance and hines exhaust.
Post by: oz353 on May 12, 2015, 10:02:34 AM
Im so excited! Just received my new tank off an 04 gs500f. began the process of prepping for paint, the graphics are under the clearcoat! Soon I will begin fabbing up some brackets to make it fit my 92 frame. Also found a used vance and hines system on ebay for 139 bucks. Cant wait to have that sweet exhaust on my lil blue demon.

The V&H sounds awesome, and looks awesome.  But you probably know that some jetting should also be considered.

nice.
Did you pick up a newer seat too? I've read that makes the install 10 times easier and better looking.

Looking at your list of modifications you should get a set of gold valve emulators. They will make your bike much faster then that new exhaust  8)

Already done the jetting. Although I believe some further tweakage may be required. I have installed the vance and hines and im getting a flatspot at w/o between 5 and 6 k rpm. I just made some adjustments while at work. I suppose we shall find out on the way home.
I still have much to do for the tank. Basically I have not made any progress on it yet.

I will also be repairing the oem belly pan the same way I repaired the oem headlight fairing....fiberhair bondo and alot of sanding. Alot of sanding.
