Hey guys, I'm having an issue with one of my turn signals on my 90 gs500e. It was a project to begin with but is almost complete now with exception to a slight issue.
All of the turn signals work and flash properly except the left rear. At first I replaced the bulbs on all four lights. This had no change, so I went and bought a flasher relay and a test light. After putting the flasher on there was still no change. Assuming a wiring issue I used the test light and it lights up, and blinks on the wire for the left rear turn signal. At this point I assumed I had a bad turn signal and went ahead and just bought new rears that were a little smaller than stock. Upon installation of the new ones, I am having the same issue.
The turn signals are all getting power but one will not light up or flash. If anyone has ideas I would love some! I am going crazy. Thanks!
Are all the turn signals are traditional bulbs and not LEDs?
They are all traditional non-led!
I have had this happen a few times, and it always turns out to be a solder issue in the turn signal socket. I replaced mine with a cheap set from cycle gear and the wiring and socket is really cheap thin junk. I found with a bit of patients and a soldering iron it was always fixable though.
I've actually replaced it now twice. Once with the oem turn signals and now with aftermarket and the issue is still there :/. I checked the bulb and it is good! It's getting power to the socket too. Im not really sure what else to try.
Having power is half of it, a good ground is the other half of a curcuit.
I assume the ground would be the black and white wire running from the left rear signal to the negative terminal of the battery. The line is intact and looks fine. Would a bad ground elsewhere cause this too? what should I be looking for ?

Run a temporary jumper wire from the black and white wire to the frame and see if it works then :dunno_black:
.. and give that black/white some gentle flexing along its length. .. notice any spots it kinks easy? .. that usually shows busted/ corroded innards!?
