Title: 2007 gas fuel cap cleaning
Post by: RideShield on May 24, 2015, 10:50:48 AM

I am cleaning a 2007 fuel cap that came to me installed onto the tank with only the front two bolts. Any input on how the light spring should be placed and which ports I should be cleaning would be appreciated.

The tiny screw that I didn't remove was the missing puzzle piece. It holds in place a gasket on a plunger inside of a spring which all covers a vent hole.

I finished cleaning everything and lubricated with some petroleum jelly. The latch works 90% better. I just wish that the hardware store had two stainless replacement anchor bolts instead of black. I'll have to keep looking. Thanks for the support!

Anyone has the photos which are missing from this post? or have other photos to share? http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=41061.msg461586#lastPost

I lost the spring and maybe more and I want to know how to assemble them.
