Title: Corbin Seat for '01 GS
Post by: RC on February 12, 2004, 12:59:08 PM
I contacted Corbin about a seat for the '01 model and here is what they said:

"The answer to your question is yes we can make a seat for the GS 500. However, our records show that our saddle only fits to 2000 - and do not fit the '01.  That means that we would need to have a bike here in the shop in Hollister, CA to verify vitment or make any modifications to the current saddle, or tool up for a new saddle.

Unfortunately we cannot work off of the stock basepan without having the bike here.  If we try without the bike there's alot of guesswork going on and very rarely will it fit without getting sent back several times.

If you plan on being in the Hollister, CA area (75 miles south of San Fran or 300 miles north of LA) we can build the seat while you wait (2-4 hours), or if you can arrange to have a friend bring a bike in to have this done, we can do that too.  Most likely we will need to use the stock saddle while building it off of the bike."

Does anyone with an '01 or '02 live near their office who is interested in a Corbin seat?

Thanks,
Ron

I think I remember reading this same thing on the board near the end of last summer.  I thought someone actually went and did it back then.

Do you just want a gunfighter style seat??

Yes, just the gunfighter style.

After serious consideration I've decided I don't need the backrest.

I'm open to alternatives as well, I just want a more comfortable seat for distance riding.
