Title: 2007 gs500f fuel leaking dieing in the middle of a ride
Post by: smberens on June 23, 2015, 06:50:02 AM
So I bought this bike a little over a month ago it only had 1000 miles on it yes 1000 the guy worked all the time so it sat ... I pulled tank drained cleaned... pulled carb cleaned jets pilot jets were clogged put new gaskets in and float needles... went for a ride last night with my wife and my bike kept falling on its face almost like it was fuel starved tried a few things the only thing that would keep it running to get it home was prime.... got it home parked it when I went out this morning it had a puddle of gas under it after looking I saw one carb was wet  the other not so I pulled carb opened that side looked like float needle clip was stretched I replaced it with the old one which wasn't messed up just did for good measure put back together put on prime to start.... it started then died had white smoke come out tailpipe tried to start more nothing to the point I killed the battery .... then it started leaking fuel again.... any thoughts I turn off the tank petcock so maybe it will stop leaking
