Title: WTB: 1997 (or any year that fits it) right side float bowl
Post by: tvl3rd on June 25, 2015, 07:36:24 AM
picked up this bike and rebuilt the carbs.  put everything back together and gas is leaking out of the drain hole at the bottom of the right side float bowl.  I figured the screw was messed up so I picked up a new one and it didn't solve the problem  :dunno_black: so I guess somehow the bowl itself must be bad so gas just drips out slowly all the time, even with the drain screw all the way in.  Queue me going on partzilla and it looks like the bowls are the only part of the carb you cant buy individually.  F***. I just want this bike on the road.  Im seriously about to put a rubber stopper over the drain or jb weld it or something if I cant find one.  Help?

will also accept recommendations on how to fix this or a place where I can buy the bowl individually. would blocking off the drain cause any major problems? I would think it would just mean I have to turn the carbs upside down to drain that bowl after I remove them from the bike.
