Title: FS: Parts bike with title, complete
Post by: z driver 88t on June 26, 2015, 12:58:30 PM
Thanks for the years I used this forum to help diagnose and maintain my GS.  It is a great resource.  Unfortunately an accident has claimed the bike and its time to clean out the garage.

Complete bike with title and two keys
Two complete sets of side fairings in factory blue: one set fair, one set very good.
Two seats, both very good
Brand new Bridgestone Battlax front tire still packaged
Rear tire mounted, in great condition
Tank is excellent, two seats, etc.
Brake pads, chain and front and rear sprocket all recently changed, complete bike.
Brand new battery, unopened, acid never added.
Bike was in an accident and suffered some frame damage and a cracked left side lower engine case.  No desire to part it out so I would like to sell complete $300 or best offer if you're in North Florida. Bike is in Gainesville (short drive from JAX, ORL, TPA or TAL if you have a GS you are trying to restore).
If no takers, I will part it out eventually but would rather have it gone and not deal with it to the point of making a good deal for someone to take the whole thing.

Its not anything that is visible, at least to me.  I'll post more detailed pics of the bike tomorrow. I had planned to fix it originally after the accident, but rolling it around the garage and turning the handle bars, the chassis just feels "off."  Not sure how else to describe it.  Maybe its just forks, maybe the swing arm.  I didn't want to mislead anyone because to me the bike doesn't feel right, but I'll take some detailed pics and see.

If you want to part it out I'm looking for a piece of the carb that connects to the vacuum lines. (http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07/21/f203dffcf90c244e9d1d7e2c2f507805.jpg)

Rob, Is yours completely gone? Or do you still have the pieces of it? I was able to repair mine with liquid weld. But, if wants to part it, that works awesome for both!

i may be interested in the 'blue' parts: the nose, tank and front fairings if they're all in good enough shape and you're interested in parting let me know what is a fair price for them. I live in SC, but went to UF so this would give me an excuse to roll through there again.
