RIGHT, there are a few things this could be, but let me just find what I said last time someone asked this sort of question (I fought with the same thing)

1. Incorrect float height, allows gas to always flow into carbs bad news. Link to help with adjusting float height (there's also some info in the wiki):

2. Bad float needle (or, as I like to call it, silver-thing-with-rubber-tip-connected-to-the-float).  Just look at it. If it looks buggered (worn, cracked, etc) it needs to be replaced.

3. Bad float valve o ring (brass colored thinger that the needle rises into has this one) you can test this bit by constructing some manner of contraption to hold the needle in there firmly, or just cover the holes on that brass bit with your fingers and pour some gas in the correct tube. If you have a helper I advise the 2nd option. If not you need to grow another hand.

You can also just pull the valve and look at the o ring, this is the bit that was causing me issues and it was comically bad.

Hope this helps and sorry if I seem like I'm talking down at you, I simplified it to the point at which I would've needed the info when I had a similar issue.

Regards,

Menno

if they didn't seat correctly, yes.  Try seating them well (some members a bit of oil or gas to get them to slip in and seat). Hope you get it worked out!  :thumb:

did you replace all the o-rings in the carbies or not? There's one that the floats seat with (a small one) that effected my throttle, but I'm not a hanging throttle expert, either  :dunno_black:
