Title: What size PVC pipe for Sonic Springs?
Post by: Big Rich on July 13, 2015, 05:22:43 PM
Does anybody remember the diameter of the pipe that comes with Sonic Springs? And the length (approximately) in each fork?

I'm having..... issues with my forks and I'm stuck at work, so I can't just open them up. In a couple days I need to tear the front apart and I'm trying to research everything I can now.

1" OD | .80" (probably 3/4) ID. It is PVC Conduit, Grey in color. Approx length, don't recall - I did the "measure at the top of the fork tubes" method. It was somewhere between 6-9 inches if I recall. Get a 2ft section of it, and you should be golden.

Awesome Al, thank you. I'll dig around the garage and see if I have to buy some....

It's 3/4" schedule 40 PVC. The schedule 40 part is important, it's the thicker-walled stuff.
Don't use a length from someone else, that should be determined for each bike. Follow the Note A section of the instructions.

Thank you Rich! Right now my spacers are too short so I was wondering what the approximate length of the pipes were that came from you (to make sure I had some extra laying around before opening up my forks).

The piece we send is about 16.5" long. A 10' stick at Lowe's is $3, so you'll have plenty of extra. :)
