Just passed inspection. Off to get it licenced.

Yeah, never came with one, I will probably add one-  but it's doubtful anything would be visible with all the vibration these old twins put out.

When I try to think of what kind of bike (other than a GS 500) a GS500 lover would want....that's the one!

Looks like its had some work over the years, tank paint is not original and the seat is pre 66 but only the purists will be bothered

Info here will help you date it, possibly to the month of manufacture, assuming you don't already know.

67 frame, 71 engine. So I'm calling it a 69. I built everything from the ground up. Was a basket case. Challenging - and there are more oil leaks than I thought. Everyone warned me about that.

Nice! I have a '69 "bitsa" myself. '69 Tiger frame with a '73 750 5-speed engine and a set of XS650 forks with twin discs. Of course, mines in boxes currently...
