Title: Ordered aftermarket short levers - Switch wont fit - Will it drain my battery?
Post by: kharper4289 on August 05, 2015, 09:00:13 PM
I can just keep the switch to "On" mode, so it will start, and electrical tape it to my cables under my bars.

Will this drain my battery or cause my fuse to blow?

Mine's been taped on for years. If you take a look at the wiring diagram, the switch is just in series with the engine starter switch, so it being taped off won't make a difference for power draw.

Otherwise, when I got my sv650 perch, there wasn't a clutch switch but it did still have something to put the wires to. Maybe look for a sv650 switch on bikebandit. There just isn't a tab for the switch. Otherwise, if it is still the stock perch, put it in the on position, and grind off the top tab.

I was thinking of getting aftermarket levers for a while, but was wondering if it was possible to drill out a small section to allow the switch to keep working as designed.  Has anyone done this?
