Can I remove the front fender and ride around without?
I know the fender is there to help keep water off the rider and the engine and maybe move some air around... but other than that - the fender itself serves no support function does it?
I know I can pick up a thicker fork brace from Spec II or a few other places, but anyone know a cheaper but just as effective route... (I'm loking for function over form - could be as ugly as anything!!!)
In painting my bike, I've opted for looking for a new black front fender instead of painting my stock faded red one and I want to rie the bike around without the fender for awhile ...
Thanks...
Some states require fenders....some don't....maybe check your local laws first..?
Yes you can ride around with out the fender. Just be prepared to get crap thrown up on you and the engine.
You DO need the fork brace, either stock or a aftermarket one, because the tubes by themselves aren't strong enough.
What is wrong with just painting it black? That's what I did and mine used to be yellow.
You can make you own brace. I have been planning on doing the same but just haven't found the time.
you umm, can ride around w/o the fender, i am still :( , had bike at friends house in his garage, but rolled through some mud on way out, got on road, opened her up, and well, all i can say is thank god for face shields. anyhoo, if you get another one, and want to part with that one post or pm me. thanks :thumb:
