Title: 99 gs dying after a mile ride
Post by: bwen26 on August 15, 2015, 04:03:30 PM
Hey guys,

Here's the issue I'm having. This occurs when I get on the bike and ride right away or allow it to warm up for a while. After a mile or two down the road it starts to lose power. Doesn't matter what gear or speed. I can be on the throttle and it just bogs down and shuts off. Anyone experience this or know where to start? Fuel starvation? Thanks for any info.

After it dies immediately open the gas tank, listening carefully for a hiss. If it hisses then you have a clog in the breather. If it doesn't hiss you probably have a partial clog in one of the petcocks or fuel lines.

I have the same problem, and have been meaning to troubleshoot it, but it works fine in PRI so I haven't bothered. Have you tried moving the petcock to prime?

That's generally a vacuum leak or problem with the frame petcock.
