Title: Hanging rpm (NOT IDLE)
Post by: Skropi on August 16, 2015, 02:42:20 PM
Well, I did a quick search on this one but I only found topics about the idle, not about my issue.
Sometimes, not always, when I am at about 7k rpm, and I close the throttle so as to shift up, the rpm stays at 7k and doesnt drop as it should. I did check for an air leak in the intake manifolds and found everything ok. I didnt check very well though. The throttle is tuned well, with the required cable play and everything.
Could it be an air lead eventhough it doesnt happen everytime  :icon_question:

Just to confirm, did you see to make sure that the throttle cable was actually retracting down at the carb? Same with the choke cable? I would try spray some carb cleaner or wd40 around the carbs while idling to look for an rpm change indicating a vacuum leak.

Well, I didnt really really check the cables... Will do though in due time, now that you mentioned it  Oh, I did spray wd40 and I got no rpm burst, so maybe it is the camble after all.
Ye, the choke lever is definitely sticking, not smooth at all. Maybe that has something to do with all of that  :dunno_black:
So, I am checking cables and return here for the update  :thumb:
