Title: Rant thread :S
Post by: yamahonkawazuki on September 09, 2015, 11:42:33 AM
WTH, doc says absolutely no load bearing at all  on both ankles. the left one albeit visually clean has the most risk for complications. so i figure since im out of commission conservately 6 weeks, realsistically 6 mos. if all goes well. so i figure wtf see if i can obtain assistance from state :( wrong. im not female and i dont have kids. seriously lol wtf cant support myself let alone a child. so i google temporary ( hopefully) disqability. NOPE not an option state/fed programs, not an option im a single male no family stuff there. only thing this ^*($&$&$&$&$$&$@@(%)! state provides is unemployment. not an option job training not right now with upcoming surgeries and suc as well as pt when/if things work with ankles. many states offer this tn does not. ive drained battery 4x today between here :) which i enjoy and the beaurocracy which is state and lfed dept of stinking bs. qanyone know of a program ive overlooked? am at wits end.  keep in mind im a single MALE no kids. i cant find nothing. plus stress and worry has killed apetite over last two days. ( as wellas health too im down to 125 now. wtf lol 8<S

Every time I get involved in one of these rant threads, I always get in trouble for bad-mouthing Stromtrooper forum.
It's a weakness of mine. Stromtrooper is the place I simply love to hate.
Yet I visit daily. Hell, I'm even a paid member. <go figure>
I guess you could say its a love-hate relationship. (http://www.websleuths.com/forums/images/smilies/drumroll.gif)

Tis why i put thread here :) btw once phone comes in looking at setting up a blog w/ google. and move the doc thread there. anyhoo my rant of the day is withbmy surgeon. i phoned office, described what was going on and the weightloss and lack of appetite which yes is anorexia. ate maybe 300 calories even though i had no desire. nor want. nothing today. yet ;) anyhoo the sudden anorexia seems to be fairly commonplace among  ankle fractures. like night and day it was turned on and appetite off. i mentioned the left foot and the higher than normal % of complications mal unions even non unions. ( looked closely ankle cartilage is nearly gone .) anyhoo also told him of the weight loss over 3 days from 137ish to 125 again ( 3lbs for cast, one for cast shoe. i closed asking this concerns me what should i do.. they didnt call back. thats okay ill make a go of it. i chose badly tho. ( kung pao chicken ) lol. should be fine :) still no desire to eat but i must. 2 pics to come later id say to doc thread. one is me in my black wranglers. (30-32) a gimme :D now theyre loose enough i can fit 2 of me in them. theyll call in am though. going with job coach guy to see if dhhs office can help out until im on feet. i hate tn nothing against job seekers or servicds but dammit it will be a Few mos conseratively til im done i called one office they said we can help you find work. i said maam i cant right now im in a wc for a while then pt. assuming no complications. i MIGHT have one day a week. nj has a decent programs for those temp disabled as does many other states. Cest la vie . p.s just keep eye on rules this thread will get some use.. had i not made it i would have thread jacked my own thread.

A blog! Yes, Thats it!
Yama, you need a blog. This forum format is too non-editable. Too fast moving, but a blog... That would be perfect for you to chronicle your on-going adventures.

Damn, why the heck didnt "I" think of that?  :technical:

will start the process friday when phone arrives. success i think on the food front. 800 calorie meal put down. guess when left leg went nuts my apetite went into hiding :( but this seemed to have worked. idk what ortho will do about the weight. but it seems the nerve issues ( ongoing) and LOW weight wsill be the subject of our talk tomorrow. 2 more weeks then we find out whats next. actually thought about if they recast me, theres 5 colours available. white, blue, orange, hot pink and black. 2 rolls to run a cast. could "auction off colour choice/s yes even if its hot pink in return for a donation to site. although i may regret this lol. anyhoo tomorrow will be fun :( job coach guy is like ready to go find work tomorrow? im looking down at boot on left which leg is on fire and cast on right and orders NOT TO USE ie stand. i said  not exactly lol. i replied no telling if or when id be able to work. so applying now is kinda a waste. course last time we went and did this he didnt know about the nwb on both feet. i suggested we check dhhs office and see what can be done for bext few mos. and D****t i did it again 3rd time ive threadjacked MY OWN thread. could be the pk had to lay off to see what was going on with left side. ahh well back to rants. updates via doc thread. be back in a while going to try and hack my patient portal at hospital and see if i can get most recent films. ( misplaced my credentials lol)

the GUI blows on this phone. course ive been moderating onba 2" screen lol. anyhoo ill see if i can get my films at TOC oak ridge ( tn ortho clinic).

short gripe:
applied for unemployment from the goodwill job. yeah they shot me down, then 2 days ago card arrives. ( debit card) i say wtf? maybe i overlooked something, or they did. so i activate it as a why not thing. of course nothing on it. ahh well got hopes up briefly. kinda cruel. course couldnt apply for work anyways. have no burnt bridges in this town. dont intend on creating any. not cleared to work anyways. not cleared for pt yet either. would consider mild work once cleared for pt. 6 weeks off conservatively. baah i give up. state of tn is BS when it comes down to these things. cause i dont have childrean and its not work related.

Kinda angry at methodist medical centre in oak ridge.  when i was there late thursday with the sepsis episode they cut my cast off  to treat it. ortho said that was fine. cause i see him friday to check on the bone union. anyhoo what pisses me off is i was told to take the moonboot off left ankle and switch to right. nothing was put back onto left. now its raging. i do have my old splint i suppose i could use til fri, but 5 days without protection was a bit irresponsible of them. and my ortho. just pissed me off. just got off phone with them for followup survey. was less than flattering  but other than that it was handled well.

still mentally planning gs trike :) ranting on cost lol. actually wont be that bad. fun part would be locating 400ex swingarm ( then coming up with a longer axle.) that in itself will be a source of rant lol. everything else should be with a bit of machining, a direct bolt in. now if i did it bombardier style, ( 2 wheels in front) THAT would be a source of rant and mental meltdowns lol.. would be safer lol but would be very expensive to do so thats off the table lol. course in that case it would be FAR cheaper to just buy a bombardier lol. But if rendered a monopod, ill build a gs based trike. wont have reverse unless i can figure out how honda does it with the goldwing. ( starter motor run in reverse) but i could push a gs trike with 1 leg. but im getting ahead of myself. lets see what happens first Eh? ive enough freetime may come up with a concept drawing first. no custom body ( = weight) but not looking hacked together either. oh yeah this is a rant thread lol. hmmmm not really pissed off about anything. except maybe State of confusion Errrm TN.  WILL GET A LIFT UP TO DHS and see if they know of anything which would help me. that doesnt involve having children lol. those things are expensive lol.

I know a concept that would theoretically work for reverse movement. .. not my idea,  I just know of it...

But it's real world usage/efficiency/ reliability/serviceability  is problematic when it comes to motorcycle movement. .. I know it definitely WOULD work on a basic level, it's the advanced performance that's the issue......

Some Ride on lawnmowers use the system, large commercial honey extractors also use the system ...

About to sleep for work early rise right now and using phone to post, so not easy put up a pic (do that later)....

Just tried to explain here without pics but hard to.visualise the interface between chain and drive system...

Yama, ill get back to this very soonish, but reverse is doable in basic theory, it's the engineering/mechanism that needs pondering. ...
If you find pics of ride-on belt drive sets and how they reverse  ..or of larger honey extractors with the 3 disc reversible drive system then you might get a preliminary concept of what I mean

I'm sure there are other machinery uses that have the system (it's kinda like a exploded view differential but more basic :)

(rolled ankle.) a week later broke other one. the tib on other leg. doc days cant lift much maybe 5 to 10 lbs. TOPS. this chandelier project will be over 100lbs when finished. ( will mount to ceiling joists) ill have to go into attic to secure it. thats been postponed. friend will come by and help me move the thing off table. ( may take time and set it up for outdoor use) sourcing fixtures rated for it.  its nearly 4ft long as it is. lol.

This is Canada's Top Ten List of America's Stupidity

Number 10
Only in America could politicians talk about the greed of the rich at a $35,000.00
per plate Obama campaign fund-raising event.

Number 9
Only in America ...could people claim that the government still discriminates
against black Americans when they have a black President, a black Attorney
General and roughly 20% of the federal workforce is black while only 14% of the
population is black 40+% of all federal entitlements goes to black Americans -
3X the rate that go to whites, 5X the rate that go to Hispanics!

Number 8
Only in America...could they have had the two people most responsible
for our tax code, Timothy Geithner (the head of the Treasury Department) and
Charles Rangel (who once ran the Ways and Means Committee), BOTH turn out to be
tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.

Number 7
Only in America...can they have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and
have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the
backlash.

Number 6
Only in America...would they make people who want to legally become American
citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of
dollars for the privilege, while they discuss letting anyone who sneaks into the
country illegally just 'magically' become American citizens (probably
should be number one).

Number 5
Only in America....could the people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking
by the country's Constitution be thought of as EXTREMIST'S.

Number 4
Only in America...could you need to present a driver's license to cash a check or buy
alcohol, but not to vote.

Number 3
Only in America...could people demand the government investigate whether oil
companies are gouging the public because the price of gas went up when the
return on equity invested in a major U.S. Oil company(Marathon Oil) is less than
half of a company making tennis shoes (Nike).

Number 2
Only in America... could you collect more tax dollars from the people than any
nation in recorded history, still spend a Trillion dollars more than it has per
year - for total spending of $7-Million PER MINUTE, and complain that it doesn't
have nearly enough money.

And Number 1
Only in America...could the rich people- who pay 86% of all income taxes - be accused
of not paying their "fair share" by people who don't pay any income taxes at
all.

Just thought of something. this relates to my first fracture on the 12th. which did the most damage. i was prescribed trazodone ( which is an old anti depressant now commonly prescribed for insomnia.. which it was in my case.) i had taken my dose which was 150mg. after a half hour i stood to turn on ceiling fan. and BAAM  i black out. hit the floor fracturing distal fib on right leg. was splinted  12 hours later. ( covered in doc thread. ) later on after being casted, it happened again but i caught myself. landing on knees. am wondering, do i look into this? do i retain counsel regarding this? ive ceased using it because if i damage joints any further, well we know where i stand now. bones arent healing. idk. kinda pissed tbh.

Im kinda PISSED at methodist med. center here in Oak Ridge. sure they detected my broken ankle on top of a previous one. BUT 1 THEY DID NOTHING FOR PAIN my god im feeling it royally. and 2 as far as the fibreglass splint.  there wasnt one put on TOP of the foot. my foot wiggles when i sleep. its not secured. now with an unstable fracture on left, ive got ti improvise. (going to take aircast and return it to service on LEFT side where it was originally. ( it comes with a top brace) will then see if splint will fit on right foot ( in 2 pieces side brace can flip around to fit on right. idk. hell i unloaded on the poor RN. i vented publicly. she was surprised they did nothing beyond the splint. ( pain wise) she went back and raged on them lol. i was there waiting on ride. when she came back out. meh splint is temp. ill get casted prolly monday perhaps surgery idk. i never raged at this hosp. most of the time they treated me well. 2nd time i felt wronged i unloaded. ( 1st time was original incident on same foot lol :(  ) tbh come think of it, its same PA tha treated this one too. uh oh. here comes a rage monday after ortho. ( well no not a rage but a stern vote of displeasure to staff supervisor.)
More rants to come im sure lol.

Eh Yama ... I'm on work Comp at moment with light duties till they figure out and scan my left knee and why it's sounding like rice bubbles and feeling like a hot ice cube...

But the medico thing.... I was reminded today while at the doc getting the MRI scan request, sports physician referral and physio recommendation.... (And not hacking on doctors overall... Much needed people in everyone's lives!) ...

The doc gave me updated med cert for suitable duties, referral and said "ok that's it see you next time" ..... I was 'whoa up bro! MRI? , and can I get physio for evaluation for a knee wrap/support so it's not getting jolted as much?' ... He looked blank for a few seconds and then "yes of course! , tired and missed lunch, sorry!" .. Gave me all the papers I needed and out I went...

The other doc I had for when I wrecked my wrist was also vague to start with when treating symptoms and providing info.....

Once scans and info came back then it was a lot easier to progress....

But back to my thought before I tangent off... Always make sure you ask and remind them about stuff that concerns you!!!! If you/I/anyone can see something that could go awry .. Like a half wrapped foot being able to move.... Just remind them... 'Hey is that going to work when I lay down? I don't stand upright 24/7 eh?' ... They may have this extra knowledge , they get forgetful/fatigued/preoccupied like every other person on the planet too though! ....

They may say why they want it that way and leave it that way for xyz reasons... But at least it's with a reason.... They may look and go  :icon_idea: ... Oh yeah!! Wups!

I always push the point on possibilities and potential repercussions on treatment/medication .. Just to be sure that there will be less conflict later..

Oh yeah ... My light duties away from garbage truck... Go with cleaning crew in van, they vacuum stairwells and such in public access areas of government/city housing units... I wander about the ground floor perimeter with a cobweb broom! ... Windows, gutters, garage doors are web free now!! Lol ... For this I get paid very similar money to actually driving the garbage trucks!  :D :D :D

left leg with recent fib fracture, the bone slid down over itself by a few MM. ERR FORWARD AND DOWN. raging like hell today. i tried the lace up brace. with the moonboot on top. my GOD that hurt. taking the boot off for now. still got 2 weeks to kill before next ortho visit. idk if i can handle 2 weeks of that lol. the ascii pic of the fib looks like
I
\
will post  xray when i can get to a comp. the soft tissue injury plus the swelling has yet to decrease. going on 2 weeks now. :S going to the ER is as worthless as t*ts on a bull. theyll tell me to go see my ortho. who cant do anything until swelling subsides. who then more than likely will plate it. :S. so really unless it either turns purple gets cold or breaks thru skin, not much to be done. damn im impatient lol. unless i rage or go loopy at er ppl. but naah . i want to sneak into local holiday inn and jump into their hottub.

Went for an MRI on neck & head for occasional migraines a few years ago...

On my follow-up visit, the doctor said; "Your head is fine but your neck is a mess! You never told me about your automobile accident. Or was it from playing football in school?"
I told him I was never in an accident, nor did I play much sports as a young man.

I told him "Work" is the culprit!
Doing tree work, doing engine swaps in cars, doing 4x4 recoveries out in the swamps all night, 30+ years repairing railroad bridges, replacing HVAC units at my house, doing construction, etc, etc...

(excuse me friends, I'm on a rant here)  :whisper:

downloaded a 20hz sub bass track of 5 mins after the hell that was ethra today ( getting pre op labs for tues) hell i didnt tell them i was taking the chair. yes i needed to have done so. guy in am parks van near end of drive. hes like "you able to make it up the stairs? said ill do my best. was wearing aircase. yet muscles went momentarily weak in leg (L) nearly losing balace and falling. after this fiasco  ankle feels cold numb and on fire. yet foot is ok. anyhoo after labs were done the B*atch who picked me up REFUSED to run the lift. so AGAIN i mount stairs same thing nearly happens. and to fakin beat all I HAD to UNLOAD the chair. i can understand the necessity of informing them of usage of chair. ( what if they send van w/o chair lift. ) so yes i agreed.  and yes it will be done. but frig idk who pissed in her cheerios this am, or she suffers from a mysterious african disease lackanookie. why she REFUSED to lower lift. said shed have to charge to do this ( saying co policy) and again refusing to lower it here. thought about lodging formal complaint but meh a few rounds of this type of crap  and shell be taking out trash at mcdonalds. so kept my cool. called ortho about this they paged colleague. told him what had happened and such, said i could call monday and see if i can get earlier appt. if i do, will be after tues the 27th. ( other procedure is then.) ortho not scheduled until 2nd. meh if i can make it thru monday  may just wait. now just kicking back and watching tv

Okay this is a double rant ( 2 subjects)
[rant 1] Spelling. this is by no means directed at the disabled . but at the people in occupations that REQUIRE a college degree. there was a PSA on justice network about email scaMMers. in place of scammers, was scamers. just about everything has a spellchecker built in nowadays. theres no excuse. even youtube has one. my GOD there are some bad replies where the reply could be used as code in a time of war. there literally is no reason for it. spelling is one of my strong suits. yet slip ups do happen. (guilty lol :embarrassed:) slip ups im cool with. but if youre writing copy for a tv station VERIFY it. because this copy will be out there for a while. and could be part of your resume at some point. Anyways friends i do apologise. did not mean to offend. but after seeing Multiple PSAs today with spelling errors, and a newscast yesterday, i was like WTF. i dont have a degree other than trade school, (yet). If i were to write copy for tv, i would slip up. but would see it after proofreading/ and correct it. Again i do apologise and will stop before i offend anybody too bad. (p.s. ive used google if i was unsure about the spelling. googled scamers it said showing results for scammers) again apologies :)
[/rant 1]
[rant 2] tv marketers/infomercials/ separate shipping for free item.:
Everyones seen this im quite sure. buy this for 19.95 and we will include a second one free  * just pay separate shipping and handling. Um if its shipped in same box why pay shipping twice.? handling  yes, there is overhead to cover.
then after awhile, shipping and handling was changed to processing and handling. another Um, isnt processing and handling more or less the same action? ( if youre manning the phone bank, youre processing the call and handling the transaction.) usually these fees are close to cost of original item sans freebie/s ( i spend alot of time watching tv and notice these things. and occasionally call and inquire about a potential purchase lol. i would say i want this item but Not the complimentary one. they would say we cant do that or the system wont allow us. if i was feeling REALLY ornery, id reply well was interested in 5 for gifts. id use an odd number because the complimentary things 9 times out of 10 were even numbers. so id use an odd number. no dice. although ( this wasnt intentional) one of these companies gave me a free one no charge whatsoever. i guess to get me to shut up. one of those dorky wearable blankets.[/rant 2] ok time to mellow out.  :) rest again until midnight. when i have to begin fasting for tomorrows procedure. fasting blows but is necessary. :(
in closing on first rant/entire post, out of respect for rich (phaedrus RIP) As well as out of respect for this forum whom i consider its members friends, i wont correct grammar or punctuation. or call it out publicly or privately. i mean my grammar/punctuation ( not the spelling side often) is atrocious. besides here it is not often an issue. or if it is, it is easy to figure out the message.
Ahhhh that feels better. the tv spelling rant has been building for a while lol. :icon_mrgreen: Am not terribly concerned about punctuation on my part atm because the shift key  on this month old dying phone is dodgy at times. puctuation as a whole doesnt concern me here. because we are among friends . and friends dont call out friends for those matters :). anyhoo, glad these rants are over. time for new ones to build lol.

Yeah lol . except for left pinkie tendonitis which isnt a huge deal at this moment. have other things to fix. and if pinkie doesnt get worse ill leave as is.
Im medically grounded for a week.
it basically means ignoring doctors instructions could be dangerous  or even lethal.
Spinal cord stimulator trial procedure went off perfectly. like a tens unit on steroids. tens works outside to in. across skin. the scs works from inside out. with direct connections to nerve juctions. plus if i lean back it gets stronger, fwd weaker.turn head left or right gets stronger. look downwards or up same. straight fwds is normal. anyhoo enough exp. on how it works lol. the grounding and why.
I cannot lean forwards as if to stretch back. ( to release tension) this can disturb the 4 electrodes on spinal column. best case scenario, nothing happens. worst case? can nearly be lethal if electrodes cross the wrong nerves. that is really the issue. shorting out my CNS. briefly did this earlier was funny because the side effect was a loud fart lol.
but i must NOT do what we normally do. i cannot bend over to pull pants up. ( flexing back.)
bending over to pick things up. lifing anything above my head. not allowed. it will pull electroldes out of position. which can be dangerous. picking up more than 5lbs. and no further than shoulder level. can be dangerous. turning to side can be dangerous.  every day movements which afe normal can be dangerous. so i have to learn different ways of doing things for a week. beyond this im golden. :) still QUITE pissed at Ethra tho

i cut ties with this sonofab*tch whom i thought was a friend. after procedure yesterday like clockwork he calls begging for some of my pain medication.i said i wont do it. sorry. hes like i had a bad day at work and ankles killing me. WTF i tell him. a bad day at work and a sore ankle from a fracture almost 2 years ago., ill trade you both of my broken ankles one being unset, and this back procedure. for a bad day at work and a sore ankle any day. hes throwing a hissy at this point. Hes saying doesnt my discomfort concern you? said sure it does im not risking arrest or violating my pain doctors trust. or the law. so he replies well dont ask me for a f^&&!ng thing or a ride or anything. oh might want to make sure doors are locked.
i said" threat noted.  restraining order considered."
he replies i didnt threaten. i said um, you dont threaten someone in writing. idiot.
later on hes calling begging for money. says for sons doctor appointment. i said after the threat earlier youre asking me for money.? ahem no you can go f yourself.  and 2 youre on medicaid. you can ride ethra for free. bye.

Ej my friend, i tried and finally suceeded, to get a mlod position. its not work,  it is like normal. youd end up like myself or janx or buddha, can still postwhore or whatnot . you jujst have a little more power :). if a post develops into a fight which goes nowhere, youve the option to tf it, or even lock it or worst case, ban. or the fun part, assign custom titles :icon_mrgreen: but basically the site self polices ;) so work is minimal. plus there are others doing same so help would be close at hand. also its kinda fun tbh. myself i cant work due to injuries so ive got time lol. also a crap phone lol.  but jeven you could do it with the wife and kids. as ive said, this site pretty much  polices itself. so its normal postwhoring or stuff with a few extra "powers" would love to have you onboard. youd be perfect as you are. please keep that in mind. youve got my support, and janx' and probably alot more.

... and John thought it would be humorous to slot me in instead! Lol. ... after the initial shock I can't complain...  it's just like being the uncle in the room of family kids at Xmas. ... mostly just happy noise... plus you get a few snooper  buttons!

In an effort to derail the topic... <ahem>

Hey Yama...
What is it you need to upgrade from posting off a phone to posting off a tablet or a PC or whatever???
Does the phone allow you to NOT need a subscription service like FIOS?
Would an iPad help?
Perhaps some kind of tablet device on NetZero?  :dunno_black:

Talk to me brother...

The answer is still "NO" and. . .

So Yama, your only connection with the WWW is via a web browser on your cell?

Four more questions...
1.) What phone do you have now?
2.) What phone would be an improvement?
3.) What phone would be "best" for your current situation?
4.) Who's your carrier & what system; CDMA or what?

Well keep it in mind for future reference Eh? :) thought about getting onto netzero. am using a 2g/3g phone via verizon which does the job with a few limitations. an LG extravert 2. doesnt allow pdf downloads or downloads of anykind. :/. im kinda looking for a basic smartphone used on ebay. one i grabbed before seems to be worthless. have dibs on another one, trying to get it or one like it i can use in place of this one. the main thing im wanting is to be able to use it as a hotspot for the tablet. or my pc. only have a 1gb plan so  it would be used minimally. or i can grab a prepaid "unlimited" one  with same abilities. idk.

I'm figuring a clever guy like you would know the details. With a little effort we can turn lead into gold, coal into diamond, etc...
I have an iPhone 5s that my company supplies me for unlimited usage but a lot of the features (like mobile hot spot) are disabled. :icon_neutral:

Anyhow... I was looking for a "magic bullet" type of improvement for your current situation. But I must say; you do pretty damn good for running your whole operation off an old cell phone.
Cool!  :thumb:

Speed really isnt THAT important, like 4g/LTE the mobile hotspot would be ideal though. a beater WORKING ebay phone would suffice.

I figured i can either pick up an ebay beater phone which can be used as a wifi hotspot and take the place of this one, or since contract is now month to month on this verizon plan i can use it on it, or pick up a smartphone on a prepay plan and use as needed. hoping towards end of month, should be able to make this happen. using new phone along with tablet on wifi or as a hotspot on my pc. since im unable to work right now, make a few bux on ebay selling watches and jewelry. ( going to get microscope drivers via church wifi or via my office pc there. i keep forgetting lol :technical:) lol

EJ ... hangover? ... you get up to pee in the night? You replace that fluid with a glass of water before sleep again? ... or if you don't replace,  then do you feel perkier soon after a glass of water in the morning?

Yes Sir. I keep water at bed-side and in the truck with me all day long as I drive.
I think the issue here may have something to do with being so uncomfortably close to 60.  :icon_neutral:

Lots of bodily changes in the last few years for me.
I'm used to being healthy and physically fit by default. Now it seems that it requires a good bit of effort to keep me feeling OK.

Not that I'm complaining but... from age 25 to about 55 was all the same to me (health wise). But as I round the corner to 60, It's damn obvious I can't keep up with the younger guys, especially in the stamina department.

Even on the bike... In a few hours I'm cooked, and quite satisfied to head back home and get warm.
I guess that's why God (or whoever) provided me with 2 skilled & healthy kids. My Son (23) recently rebuilt a Honda carb for me in about 20 minutes! It would have taken me about 4 hours to do that same job (not to mention the parts I would have probably dropped behind the work bench :icon_mrgreen:).

Ah sh!t... I'm rambling here. Sorry.  :icon_rolleyes:

My friend i still want to see how tall you and your son are. that WR of his is a tall bike lol. my mother may GOD rest her soul said " better take care of yourself, 1 youre not young forever, and 2. you get older unless i kill you first. lol." ive outlived my invincibility stage of child/young adulthood. am paying for it dearly. now dealing with the neuropathy from diabetes, thats a given after 32 years. and placing hope and faith and prayers in the skills of the two surgeons who will have me in a couple weeks. my father born in 1946 broke his wrist at 12yo. he still feels it. i still have plans of working in a foreign country for a bit. ( seems everyone in family except sister and myself has done so.) if anything ill visit a fellow twinner across a border somewhere and help them with their bike or car or whatnot. im just NOW getting into pre-middle age. so i still have goals :) i want to ride another harley ( i miss my 883c a 2003) as well as acquiring another gs500. this one tho i want a basketcase.. Sorry again i jacked my own thread although for a first time, ive done it twice lol. my rant is against myself. had i listened to the well meaning advice of friends and even complete strangers, id not be in as bad of shape physically.

Continued... My Son gave me similar advice about the F-350 I was about to order...
He said; "go with big gas"
He works with fleet vehicles. When there's a defect or weakness and it takes out 30% of the owners fleet at once, it's hard to deny that (in this case the Ford Scorpion) still has some serious problems to overcome. Namely the curse of the EPA.

None-the-less I have a special place in my heart for people that buy a new truck that turns out to be a P.O.S., and yet they still defend the purchase.
Here, let's try this: Hey new RAM owner... Look into a mirror, now give yourself some serious eye-contact and say these words; "My brand-new 65 thousand dollar truck is a piece of sh!t"

Bank on a few things...

1.) If my particular new 3500 is defect laden I will enjoy pissing & moaning about it here on the Dodge Truck forum.
And there will be lots of posts & pics of the tear-down & repairs as I go thru the process of making it right.

2.) If I have to spend hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars, and countless hours of my own labor to make a brand-new $65,000 truck "right", you can be sure I'm up to the task.

3.) All the issues will be made right, WITHOUT the dealer's deceit laden incompetent hands ever touching my truck.
That pack of drunken pimple-faced Vo-Tech drop-outs they call FCA Certified Technicians will never lay a filthy hand on my vehicle either.

4.) Hey FCA... I piss on your warranty. It serves only as a testament to your incompetence.
BTW; In defense of the dealership auto mechanics, if they were permitted to do proper repairs I'm sure they could, but that sort of behavior can get a dealership mechanic fired.
<The crap dealership mechanics' have to put up with is fodder for another post>

So while I'm waiting for Ford to get their act together (perhaps another 2 or 3 years?), I'm stuck with a Ram for a new one ton truck.

As I stated earlier; I'm fully up to the task of suffering thru the chore of Dodge, (er Fiat, er FCA, or um RAM?) ownership. And please note that unlike many others here, I pride myself in having the fortitude to call it what it truly is.

Peace & Love y'all,
-Ej-

meh, I get accused of being a racist simply because I'm a conservative Christian & third generation American of middle European decent.  :dunno_black:

The media (with the blessings of Washington DC) do their best to make it appear as if the USA in steeped with Black/White racism and hatred.
Not so.
I live and work here in the NY Metro area in a very integrated atmosphere.
I see entitlement mentality people hating hard workers and vise-versa, but the rampant cross-race hatred the media and govt portray just isn't so.

And as far as hatred... What I do hate is the government.
If we're at each other's throats then the govt is happy as all hell.

Closing thought. . .
The anti-Christ isn't one person, its an agency.

Then again ive matured slightly since then.  or i could do like i used to on topix. infiltrate said site, and set up 2 accts and proceed to argue with myself. could get banned twice at same time. but idk. made a few enemies like this on that sites predecessor. was kinda funny tbh.
Could troll a nascar forum or something, idk im long suffering i.e slow to anger. aka ive mellowed out. Very few things anger me quickly. may check out sites tomorrow while at hosp. check in/testing. ill have a bit of time  on my hands.

I couldnt sleep until i rant at myself slightly. ive got TOO MANY remote controls. 1 for the yamaha 665 av reciever, one for the ota tv tuner,  one to aim the antenna outside ( THAT is a blessing lol) its motorised/amplified, and 2 for remote op. of the pc. i lose any of these im screwed ( with current health issues.) i take part of this back. i could lose 1 of the 2 pc remotes. and still be in business. the microsoft presenter 3000 which was a powerpoint presenter in a former life. allows me to do a bit more with only a dpad and 2 buttons. heck i even ran my flight sim on it. all that aside, ive got too many remotes. anyone out there have a logitech harmony 650 they want to let go of? cheapest i found on ebay was 30 shipped for just the remote itself.  which is all i need. my rosewill usb reciever will pick it up. it can pretty much control everything but aiming sat. go from 6 remotes to 2. just cant justify dropping 30 on another remote right now. maybe in a month. i need net to program it, but i can always do that at church on my comp there. but 6 remotes its kinda funny. used to be , the more remotes you had i guess you were not looked down upon. this was before universal remotes were worth a flip lol. all but the presenter are IR   based. i believe the presenter is RF. I CAN POINT it behind me away from usb reciever. my pc still picks it up. but a logi 600 or 650  would clear alot of space lol. right now endtable is full of remotes lol.
ok bedtime now.

While we're all waiting for the next chapter in Yama's saga to post I'll use this time to rant.
So what comes to mind???

Most motorcycle forums suck, but not because of the great information they contain, it's because their members are so damn thin-skinned.
Actually ALL forums suck because of this EXCEPT GStwins.com. And The Tard Farm remains the epicenter of wisdom, maturity, and stability in that regard.

Thinking back... The tag-team of Cods & Slips has abandon us for Hollywood and the motoVlog business.
And who can forget Mister in his heyday posting fantastic stories on The Tard Farm. Yet these are just a few that have come & gone over the years.
Jester from Cincinnati never even posted much yet has somehow been etched into the Tard Farm Hall of Fame. <go figure>

This is where I come to unwind after a hard day of witnessing blatant internet stupidity get worshipped by all the other fools that populate it.
But this sacred place is different. The Tard Farm crew are the only sane people left on earth.

Thank you peteGS for bringing your full-tear-down & rebuild projects here to the Tard Farm too. I've done similar work in the past and understand the massive amount of dedication it takes to see a project to completion. There is a fine line between losing interest and staying the course. I have had a number of projects turn into junk-piles out in the shed to rot because I strayed away from the work and lost interest.
Stay the Kat-course, mate!

So now I pace the floor like an expectant father wondering what the next post by Yama will look like.
<yikes!> Prayers and computer parts can only go so far.  :icon_rolleyes:

Perhaps I'll go over to Stromtrooper or one of the gun forums and post something politically incorrect just to watch em' panic like little chickens.
Hypersensitive little bitches trying to act like they serve a purpose to humanity when in reality they're so self centered it's repulsive. They put themselves and their ideology at the center of the universe, yet help no one.
On the positive side; The "I have sexual relations with my bike" crowd helps serve as a benchmark of what I shall never become.
BTW; You can substitute the word "Bike" for Firearm, Diesel truck, Mustang, Maserati, horse, pet dog, bird, etc...

And thank you to anybody that wears a uniform and spends their day working to keep the rest of us flowing thru life: EMS, cops, military, fire, rescue, medical services, etc...
Civilians in large numbers can screw up absolutely anything, thus I understand how difficult of a job the above mentioned people have.

Over & Out,
-Ej-

Trucks, guns, motorcycles, anything, they all suck... except for GStwins.com

I should add... it was the missus 2006 Toyota Avensis verso (minivan/wagon) ... was using it while family away on Xmas cruise to new Zealand. .. air con, cruise, comfy seats etc etc

If it was the Battle Van,  95 Toyota Hiace ... would still have been cramped but standard V belt and pulleys, not the demon serpentine belt!

Picked family up.today, they had great times...... but it's back to the Battle Van..... needs a supercharged donk and a taller diff..... and some sound/vibration sheeting! ...... and a grenade launcher! ....

but it still works ok,  mate is soon selling a 01 Subaru forester wagon, cheap.... if I can work out a deal I may get it? ... have to see.. :thumb:

Not to pick on Stromtrooper.com <cough-cough> . . . but some forums seem to be full of people that apparently have no life BUT their bike, and are very VERY easily offended.
<go figure>  :dunno_black:

So feel free to rant here D, this is the place for it.
And BTW, in the past this place was filled with porn, filth, profanity, etc... (believe me, I could post you the old links...) but over the last couple of years The Tard Farm seems to have cleansed itself.

And as for me, personnaly... I refuse to be offended by any silly forum!

Well, come to think of it... When my spell checker makes mistakes in my spelling and some of the members here rub my nose in it. <ahem>  :flipoff:
-Ej-

I do agree. I've been through too much sh*t in my life to get upset about trivial things like other people's opinions and facts I don't like. I understand people can get passionate about their bikes (hell, aren't we all?), but since when does that mean lashing out at the voices of reason and guidance? I've been on a lot of forums, and believe me, the drama can be quite absurd. If you want to see some real BS drama, check out some of the costuming forums, those guys really get their knickers in a knot over opinions and advice. Can't we just love this hobby for what it is, and share the enthusiasm? I love my GS, with it's issues and all, why does it have to be an arguing point? Ugh! :2guns:

Because they are used to other forums where there are frequent personal flames etc. .. they haven't got used to this family atmosphere yet!..

Its difficult but..  treat them kindly, offer friendly explanation of what you actually meant if they get all steamed up...  hopefully they will simmer down and fit in!

We can only hope. I like this little forum, with its amusing little banter and insightful wisdom offered freely. I know I'd be lost in my overhaul if it wasn't for you awesome guys! :thumb:

Now, back to your regularly scheduled shenanigans!

Excellent.
Now you can go back to the regular forum section with the confidence of knowing that when things get a bit too stressful up there, you can come here to the Tard Farm and call someone out as a horses ass. <It's quite therapeutic>

And not to worry, D...
I've been referred to as "a d!ck with ears" so many times (on the Harley forum) that I actually changed my forum name from Electrojake to "Richard"

I had a friend who thinks this way. still a friend, but whenever hed tell me what he says its worth, id say " sure if it were new, and NEVER sold. yet everything you sell has more miles on it than a broadway whore. and broken in some way shape or form. ;) known the guy since 1988 when i came here from chicago and he from cali. hes the same guy i traded my last gs to for a chevy pickup. then repurchased it from him for 50. he tried to get 3 grand from me for it. guess he was a tad pissy about the trucks battery. walmart ended up giving me a free battery due to a defect lol. AND 50 bux to boot.
this was the gs i owned twice lol.

Ah! LOL!

Those kind of people are the worst! I had a once-friend who was like that. . . :2guns:
The worst is the idiot "friend" who thinks he can fix anything, but instead starts to work on it, breaks it more, gets frustrated, then leaves you stranded.
I lost a very nice 1985 Mercedes Benz 380SE to that friend. . . he trashed the entire fuel system by dumping sea-foam into the several-month old gas sitting in the tank, thus clogging everything. I lost a huge amount of money on that car, and had to sell it for almost nothing. . . :2guns:
Aside from that particular event, there's a bunch of other reasons of a similar sort that resulted in him no longer being my friend. :flipoff:

I wouldn't let him fix a door's hinge!

i got the bike back in the same condition. the truck decided to fall apart. BUT thanks to a lady who decided drive AT NIGHT sans lights, got 1200 for it. 50 for a new battery that gs, got me around for quite a while longer. the rest paid for next vehicle. this was late 2008 early 2009. plus since i left the truck parked at workplace awaiting insurance tow off i was able to pull the gel cell battery out of it, and sell that also. was amazing the amount of damage her 'yota minivan did to that full size truck lol. ill have to find the pic on my pb acct and show it to ya.

What you need Yama ... is an Italian grandmother as motive power! ... you know those pictures you see sometimes... old woman dressed in black with a huge bundle of something or other on her back... trundling away! ... or pushing a cart laden with fresh veggies to market....

Some of those grannies have power you could measure on a dyno!

Get yourself a rickshaw type setup and get the old girl pedalling! ;) .... Bahahaha!

There are many older folk from all countries of course that have strong peasant blood in them..... I said Italian granny cos they are also amazing cooks that can make a man weep in thanks at the taste of the meal! ;)

Since Toledo Jim decreed that this thread cannot die, I present to you a rant/bitching session:

Why is it so F*cking hard to get a decent job these days?!? Seriously! I'm in an employment dead-zone! Unless I want to work part-time at a gas station, I have almost no choices available! There are no motorcycle dealers hiring near me, and if they are, they want an endorsement, which I don't have yet! :2guns:

If I had the money, I'd open my own motorcycle shop, but 1) there's nothing out where I live that would warrant a shop, and 2) my credit is a train-wreck of poor choices!

The fabrication shop around the corner said they'd hire me, and that I'd start Friday, but that was two weeks ago, and they're still waiting on jobs to get un-f*cked so I can start working! Its seriously p*ssing me off!

I can't afford to get my bike on the road if this situation doesn't improve soon!!!

Referring to motorcyclist being decent people:

I feel like in most cases of any community, it's always the minority ruining the reputation of the majority. I've only been riding for 2 years but I've always been felt welcomed by and had pleasant experiences with motorcyclist that have taken time to interact with me! The usual SF Bay Area squids and clearly obnoxious with personality complexes or just make poor decisions in general give me and others a bad reputation. So far and for the most part, it's been great and I think that this forum is about the epitome of how a forum should be conducted.

Y'all are fantastic and I'm sorry I only mini-ranted about jerk motorcyclist.

for the past week, and a couple weeks ago as well. my whole internet/phone systems have been completely shot. this means no credit card transactions, inventory could be totally off, can't make special orders properly, and we've have to call in every purchase on personal cell phones which takes about 6-7 minutes per transaction if a CC is being used.

as a fairly large corporate retailer, you'd think they'd have their crap together. but it takes about 3 days from start of incident to get a technician out to sort out the problem.

This also happened last year for nearly a whole month. there seems to be no sense of urgency on the managements part.  I have customers getting upset at me because i physically cannot process returns and the wait times are enormous with any amount of people in the shop.

it almost brings the business to a standstill to be quite frank.

Grrrrrr!!!

Ok, I have a rant:

Where the hell are all these wackos coming from? There's been several posts by new members all suggesting absolutely absurd mods to the GS. Why? Did a truck-load of GS's get dropped off at the ignoramus farm? Just one dumb-@$$ question after another! Do they not read? Do they not understand what a "sport-bike" is? The GS can't be a bobber! Go bastardize a "standard" if you want one of those! This bike is a wonderful bike, and I hate to see idiots inflicted upon it! :2guns:

hehe hmmmmm putting on my flak jacket it may get messy. not a fan of bobbers per-se, but i guess to each his (orher own) ive found tho the more you cut down a bike ( mods etc) harder it is to get rid of when the time comes. i knew a guy who made a rigid out of a virago THEN WONDERED WHY it killed his back every time he rode. i said 3 words to him "ARE YOU SERIOUS?"

Seeing as lpw is currently dad jokarama. ..

I'll put this not quite a rant here...

Just got into bed and went aaaaaahhhhhhhh that's SO good!...

Then thought.... when I was younger bed was good but not such a blissful release from being awake and upright.....

So I'm thinking.... older you get the more relax bliss when it's bedtime!

In that case I shall look forward to 80+ age..... it's gonna be epic!.... like a cranial orgasm maybe!

Bahahaha ;)

Sack-time is for those who cant handle being awake, as much as insomnia is for those who cant handle being asleep.
I read hosp reports from friday, yep its confirmed, it lists me as " middle aged"
too old too be considered young, yet too young to be considered old.
Ill be pround to admit being old

Currently going through the motions of nicotine withdrawal. Quitting smoking sucks the biggest load of bullshit and dicks and balls and arse and all other manner or swears, curses, foul words, awful phrases and general lewd behaviour.

Don't do it kids. Either don't smoke, or don't stop smoking if you start. It's not worth it either way you go.

Yep... feels like someone is pressing their thumb on the inside of your upper sinus?.... you get near rage monkey reactions to a leaf falling across the.footpath in front of you? How dare it! Who put that feckin tree there anyway! Stupid bastids! ... ;)

...... now.... you need something like eclipse mints or tic tacs. So you have something to distract your mouth and also get that hot minty 'drag' in your throat!......

And you need something simple to keep your fingers busy while you have the worst bits of the urge!.. rubber band, rosary, hacky sack maybe?... just to roll in your hands or fingers... but not easily fumble/escape your grasp.... baaaaaaaaaastard!

Its a bit of distraction and brain retraining for lacking the cig tube to play with....

And don't buy an 'emergency' pack unless you'll feel no guilt after using it up in 36 hours!... it's much easier to not smoke the pack you don't have!

Keep pluggin away champ!.... :thumb:

Sit-rep;

Day 4:
Eaten 3 boxes of mints. Need more.
Started a fight with a houseplant due to it's placement. Lost said fight, bastard fights dirty.
Shot myself in the face with a rubber band. Threw the whole bag, hit the ceiling fan. Rubberbands are everywhere.
Kicked a hacky-sack through the suspended roof. Lost forever.

Day 5:
So much easier. No rage or anything. I made up with the houseplant.

Dunno what I'm gonna do about these rubber bands and shaZam! though...

The rages come and go.... Just wait till week 3 ... You'll have a craving but Marshall your thoughts!! ... Your brain will be ...Keep to the straight and narrow!! .. Then you'll be driving or riding around somewhere ... Feel thirsty and see a 7eleven or similar.... Mmmmm a nice slushy hit or coffee fix would be great! ... Hmm they have snacks there too... May as well...... You know what would be great after that refreshment break?! .. Just one ciggie!! .. So I know I can handle it and keep with quitting!! ... Oops I seem to have bought a whole packet of ciggies... Cost a bit! .. Don't want to WASTE my money by throwing them out!! .... Damn... a whole packet in 12 hours.....

You must resist buying a pack!! .... They'll all get used!! ... If you absolutely have to have just one or you might axe murder your sweet white haired granny for making cookies! Buy 1 smoke off a mate for $2 or something!! ... But it's easier to even ask your mates to NOT offer you one!! ... Because it's too easy to say yeah just one will be ok...

You are gonna run into other people smoking anywhere... Best to just harden up and deal with smelling it and staying strong early on!! ... It often does smell good from afar though.. Dammit!!

Back INTO THE FECKIN SLE .....    .... Shove the farkling bastard shitty tray into the scabby dog ass bloody sleeve and flip the mongrel bastard biscuit maggoty shitefeck packet into the back of the pantry!!!!!!  :2guns: :2guns: :2guns:

Right now I'm having my peanut butter toast with my cuppa.... Chewing into it like a Haitian Voodoo doctor biting the head of a chicken!! ..  :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted: ....

We can both be each others rock while we quit the fags. (Look it up before you start abusing :) )

Boss unceremoniously told me that I'd be in the roof tomorrow to get the hacky-sack down. "It's probably got f%$king rice or some shaZam! in it, and I don't want birds up there f%$king and f%$king up the joint. And why the f%$k are all there all these rubber bands on the floor?! You flicking them at clients again?! Clean this shaZam! up, it looks like the f%$king Michelin Man walked in here and busted his nut 9 times over!"

Sometimes my job is amazing, other times it's torture. When I can get away with putting holes in the roof with Mach 7 Hacky-sacks, it's amazing.

usually the hardest part at first to a newb ( i was one as well ;)  ) is removing the stereo from dash. wiring is quite easy tbh. they make harness adapters to make it about as simple as plug and play. and theyre marked as what is what. ( plus they usually are colour matched)

I'll keep it going by ranting about crummy drivers. People who cut corners really sharp and cross into the oncoming/other lane... if you're sitting to make a left hand turn and people behind are too impatient and they squeeze around you to the right almost taking a mirror off... not using signals... riding for miles in the passing lane... people who stop in the middle of the intersection instead of back where the line is... and then a truck comes so they have to back up and the whole line of people has to back up unless someone was smart enough to leave space... OR then the light doesn't change because it thinks the person in the middle of the intersection already went through... and now you're there on your bike and the light won't change because it doesn't sense the bike even after you've tried every trick you know...

I now have a proper rant:

Did you know that you can't "float" a title if it originates at a pawnshop/dealer in Florida? I learned that recently. You know why? BECAUSE THE @$$HOLE WHO BOUGHT THE BIKE ORIGINALLY FLOATED THE TITLE THROUGH AT LEAST TWO OTHER PEOPLE WHEN THE STATE OF FLORIDA HAD RECEIVED A BILL OF SALE STATING IT HAD BEEN SOLD TO HIM!!! So now I have a "Limbo" title, because since he never went and put the bike completely in his name, the state says the title needs to be fixed. Here's the catch: the only information the pawn shop could give me (under the counter, thank you understanding manager!) was the bastard's name. So now I have to attempt to hunt him  down to resolve the issue, jump through legal hurtles, or part the bike out to attempt to recoup my losses. My bike has now officially become hell. I had even done my research to make sure it wasn't stolen or reported missing or anything, but there was no way I could have foreseen this because I'd never encountered anything like this before. >:( >:( >:(
So now I'm kind of stuck while I try to get a proper title for the bike so I can do ANYTHING with it! GGGRRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I'm so pissed off, you all have no idea. . . >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( :2guns: :2guns: :2guns: :2guns: :2guns: :2guns: :2guns:

Omg what a clusterf*ck!!! Daeouse I am so sorry!!!!!!! It makes me mad too... this is NOT how bike ownership should go -_-

I've been sitting here thinking about it a bit and I think what I'd be more leaning towards is parting the bike out on here and ebay. I've lurked on this forum for a while before I joined and started posting... have been on ebay for years and years... and based on that, I'd imagine you could be in better shape if you sold parts. You would be helping people as well as yourself... all you'd have to do is invest a bit of patience in regards to shipping costs, communication with people, packing up parts, etc.

I am wishing you the best of luck (as I always have)  :star: and hope this nightmare will finally be over for you soon

I can part it out on here, but not on Ebay, as they indefinitely suspended selling privileges on my account due to late payment of fees of some items I sold for less than $200. :2guns:

We'll see what happens when I stop by the DMV this coming week. . .

I have a tiny rant about the radio stations around my town... it's a small town yeah so we only get a few stations that come in strong... one that's country, one that's a generic variety, a station with really new stuff, an oldies station and a rock station.

Here at work, we can tune the lab's radio to all of them clearly except for the oldies one (which bums me out tbh)... anyway, on daylight shift, everyone argues and so the only station that stays on is the one with the variety but there IS no stinkin' variety!!! They play the same 40 or 50 songs honestly... over and over and over... plus they have the "No Repeat Workday" from 9am to 5pm... but all morning before 9, they play all the songs that they are gonna play throughout the 9 to 5 time frame and it's like ffs, play some different stuff!!!!!!!!!! I am SICK to DEATH of hearing "Hello" and Justin Beiber and Taylor Swift and "Stitches" and Bruno Mars and it's like oh my make it stopppppp

At least on 2nd shift (which I work a lot) we can switch it to the rock station or the new stuff station... but even those two tend to get pretty repetitive. I wish we had some different stationssssss

I'm done now  :embarrassed:

just aggrivate them ;)  change the lyrics. im a HUGE ccr fan, i.e. most of my musical stash predates me. ( ill be 42 in jan) whenever ccr would say " who'll stop the rain"  ( i believe thats it, i would sometimes adlib  " who'll stop lorraine" that is unless im surrounded by a BUNCH  of CCR fans lol. course maybe not such a bright idea of  pissing off coworkers lol.

Or use a laptop to stream online stations!
Title: Re: Rant thread :S

Satellite radio would be perfect  :D

The internet idea well... the Red Cross has a policy that says the work computers/internet should never ever to be used for anything other than work... which of course, nobody really follows... but it seems that when anyone streams video or music, they catch it... and you get put in time out!!! :nono: lmao

Make a formal proposal for the online radio as a staff morale booster that will help productivity and mental health!! ... then if its a no they are on record as denying/not interested in those 2 issues!

Its all in the words sometimes! ;)

I couldn't agree more Janx  :thumb:

But I'm pretty sure the ARC could have been on record a *thousand* times already for not caring about employee mental health or morale  :icon_eek:  :icon_rolleyes:

They DID however put up a bulletin board next to the one entrance into the lab where we were told we could put up pictures of family and pets... said that was to boost morale... and they increased the shift differential last week for peeps like me who work 2nd shift and the people that work overnight so that's really really nice.

In all seriousness though, there is no shortage of people bitching and complaining up here about the management, the job, etc but... truthfully I'd have to say I'm at least 90% happy with working here and I thank God for blessing me with ALL I have every day

True! Lol

.. rant of sorts. ... watching various 'reality' trucking shows this evening. .. I've been driving various trucks 25+ years so I like them for seeing what guys are doing and what sort of countryside they travel in...  but the producers/directors/editors!!!

Talk about setting up melodrama! ! Danger music!, the voiceover guy! .. carefully timed scene cuts! ... farken! .. they hype the ordinary and glaze past the real tricky things!... add in a few created/scripted scenes and you have the plebs on the edge of their seats! :thumb:

I alternate between nods to well handled rigs, exclamations at nonsense and laughs at bullshit! :thumb:

Trying to get moving this morning, go outside and some pigeons took a huge mayonnaise dump on my windshield overnight. >:( I walk around the side of the house, grab the hose and start walking back to spray the windshield.  Of course the hose wont reach.  I yank it and it kinks up.  I rage whip the hose and the water pressure comes through as I arc a nice stream onto the windshield, making a white runny bird poop mess.  Thinking I'll get a towel and wipe it off, I drop the hose which lands on the ground perfectly to keep the handle pressed, water spewing towards the middle of the road in a stream.  After retrieving a towel from the garage a neighbor drives into the fountain saying 'wth man!' as he passes by.  I ignore him and start wiping off the fowl mayonnaise excrement from my windshield.  Walk back to the hose and my wife comes out and compassionately asks if im ok.  As I bend over to pick up the spraying hose, my foot bumps it and (insert expletives) it turns just right to blast me in the forehead.  Holee sh-- I'm murderous by this point as my wife howls, laughing like she's never seen anything funnier.   :2guns:

I picked-up an engine (not literally) for my sister's 07 Impreza non-turbo 2.5i down in Santa Cruz. When I arrived at the pick-up location, the seller is a very nice, down-to-earth fella that was swapped out the engine for an upgrade of some sort and the motor was in good condition and drained of oil. Whatever, I need the short block. I tie it down sorta and drive up the street. After some bumps I decided I make the long drive home, I'll check my handy work of tying things down.

HOLY CRAP THERE'S OLD DARK ENGINE OIL EVERYWHERE!  :technical: :flipoff:

Okay, so it was on the trunk liner but it did get into the spare tire space.

So, I got it home and got my housemate to help me move it to the backyard. I open up the valve covers and oil comes gushing out. Perfect. At least when I bring it to the mechanic I won't have a repeat. Problem is, I need just the short block and I can't get the heads off with my hand tools. I buy a impact wrench, borrow some sockets and I get a total 2 of 24 bolts I need to take off.  :thumb:

I give up, I was hoping to take the heads off myself so I could lift the damn thing into my trunk on my own and save a little on labor but done with this project. I'll leave the rest to my mechanic named Bong.  :woohoo:

But recently I have been at least making paper notes... for a kinda 'required reading' sticky.... at its simplest it would be...

1. Use Search!
2. Use Search again with revised terms and/or lateral thinking!!
3. Use Search and then actually scan thru some threads/results while thinking about it!!!
4. BUY A DAMN WORKSHOP MANUAL!!

Went  for a  checkup on the 18th and they decided they need to replace the ptfe arterial replacement that they did in the beginning of September and they don't know when they can get an operating room to do it in.

I'm using my sister's phone to post this, since I can access my account from it.
But I don't think I will be able to get to any of my online accounts after this post until they get done with the new graft sometime this coming week.

So,  keep everything going till I get back.

My problem is a femoral graft in my left leg, they used a PTFE material instead of a natural vein and I blew the bottom i.5 inches of a 6 inch incision above my left knee open.

Went in on the 18th of oct at 9:30 a.m. and got out approx 3:30 p.m. Nov 1.

Feel like ranting about my trip to the market just now. I usually am really planned and prepared way in advance for something but I'm making pasta salad for the weekend and I specifically waited to get some of the ingredients because I wanted them to be as fresh as possible.

I went to the store just now and they literally had only one thing I needed. They were out of so much stuff and it's like holy crap people... now I have to go to Walmart after work at midnight and even though it's usually dead at that time, due to the time of year there will probably be many people, my anxiety will go thru the roof and I'm also prayingggg that they have what I need.

Smh I like the holidays but this here just irked me. Plus I'm bored af here at work and I'm only 4 hours into my shift.  :technical:

Is 5 mph over the speed limit on residential-ish roads no longer fast enough???? I'm talking going 40 in a 35... or 30 in a 25...

Because it's only 2 and a half fricking miles from my house to work and more times than not I'm being tailgated af. It's like they wanna climb right into the back of my effing van or something. It's manly 35 the whole way and I go like 40-45.

Not to mention that today, omw, I approached an intersection where it splits into a left turn lane and a straight ahead lane... and I was waiting in line with my signal on... traffic needed to move up so I could get into the left turn lane when the yellow lines widened the road into the two lanes... well the person who had been tailgating me since I left my house decided to pass me on the wrong side of the road (could have easily been a head-on crash if there was someone coming) just to get through the intersection quicker.

OF course I ended up right behind him about 60 seconds later... at the next red light...

Smh I just don't get it.

I was always taught that if you have an emergency situ of some kind ya put on your 4-ways and drive like that... but still be cautious about it!!!!

Is this the resident "rant about anything" thread? If so, I'll be happy to help keep it going. Is posting of kittens allowed in this thread? Does it irk someone? Is it ok to irk someone in this thread if one feels a rant coming on? These rules about being polite in a rant thread can be sooooo....dangit... I have my first rant.

I had a seizure about a year and a half ago, and since then, I sometimes can't remember the word I want to use. I can remember the $20.00 words, but not the $2.00 words! COMPLICATED!!!  Ok!! I remembered!  Sometimes rules can get sooo complicated when one is trying to be polite in someone else's thread! Hope this was a good first-go!!!!

Love,
pandy (http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u360/gstwin/afro3.gif)

P.S. Yeah, I know it's TF and anything goes, but I can't help wanting to be polite in someone else's rant thread! LOL! Of course, that may change depending on the temperature of the rant...if I have a good one coming on, then I may lose all manners! Or perhaps start a competing rant thread. ;-)
P.P.S. Sorry you're still going through such challenges, YamaAaronHonkaKewtBoyZukiSukawa!!! As tough as my 2016 was, I think yours still was probably worse. :kiss3:

A rant... But im laughing at the situation..

A few months ago, mowing lawn and caught a solid tree root with the blade.. (My mower has a 21" slasher type blade rather than a disc with small blades around perimeter).. The tip of one blade ended up bent down 45 deg AND it also broke the locating studs on the shaft boss!.
So i dont have tools to do THAT complete job and off to the mower service shop we go!

142 bucks later.... Overtime at work drops off and other bills are more urgent... I organise with the shop to pay instalments till paid out! No dramas!

Picked up today.. Yay!. A quick peek at the shiny new blade... Hmmm?... Pull on starter cord slowly..  Yep! Blade is upside down! Bahahaha!.   And its "again" because i remember the previous blade replacement they did the same thing!...

"Errr mate... Can you just check this for me?" .   service manager takes a single look and says a particular word!.. Takes mower around to work area and HOLLERS for the installer!! .. Couple mins later and its good to go!

"Sorry mate! Thats the third this week! " .. Recount my previous same issue (fixed by me at home)... He apologises and hands me a spark plug and new air filter (which i need soon anyway) as recompense for "hassles" .. Win!

But.. Wonder if the young bloke actually checks his own work often or just trusts blind luck!

Bahahahaaaaa

That happens lol. I had to replace a charging coil on my 18hp rider. Was too cheap to hire that job out, so removed 1 plug made sure both valves closed, filled chamber with nylon/plastic rope. Then was able to torque flywheel to 100lb/ft. Anyhow back to rants. Just got 2 of 4 bills from my stay at the Methodist medical bed and breakfast 2 weeks ago. Hops and radiology mat 4200 and change. Still awaiting tab from the ahem chauffeured ride in the white and orange limo. With sirens lol. Those average 700 for 8 miles. Depending how hard you make the EMTs work. All of them collectively will be waiting a while.
Now on a good note, close to test starting/riding the stand up with knee pad, gas scooter. May test fire today. Anyhow, rant on folks lol :)

There are small towns with less cost of living....I'm going to be in one of them once my Social  Security Disability makes its way through the maze....not sure which one yet, but I'll be there. Health bennies are a necessity. I know it's a lively discussion between Dems and Repubs about whether health bennies are a necessity or not.... I've found that those who end up on the needing end of this discussion (or have someone they love end up here) find that health bennies are a right and a necessity.....

P.S. And I'm not going to be in the 'hood, or in the east end of anything, darnit! ;-)

Many folks in 'civilised' countries regard fellow citizens as 'family', a bit like we are on this forum... lots of people on here help one-another not for any personal gain, but because they can. Some are luckier than others when it comes to knowledge and resources. We help where we can, I don't think we ask questions about the recipients, we help without making it conditional. When a family member needs help, we help.
It's SO much more important that we help people less fortunate who need health care. We know that the massive wealth is concentrated in 'certain' hands, and those hands are connected to mouths that spout lies over media in order to keep the wealth where it is. It's not about politics really, it's about simple human decency.

(And if I'm REALLY allowed to have a rant... the spelling on the bunny pic... Ouch! (I could wear it once, maybe twice, but the third one really hurt!

Well Jim, seeing that you asked...

The word "YOUR" is the 'possessive' form of the word "YOU", so, "your mother" or "your motorbike" are correct English, -it refers to what "YOU" possess.

The word "YOU'RE" is totally different, (but this is what the rabbit meant to say), -it's an abbreviation/combination of the words: "YOU ARE". As in "You're going out for a ride", "you're a dickhead".
That bunny has an incorrect grasp of the English language, (but then, what would you expect from a rabbit with a pikelet on it's bonce?!)

I'm not an English teacher, in fact I dropped out of school at 15, but I'm still amazed that so many people who have University degrees don't even know about basic English usage. - I don't want to lecture, but then again, -it is called the RANT thread!

Okay, so the Lagomorpha used your instead of you're as pointed out,
and also neglected to use an apostrophe in heres (here's), which would be a punctuation error.
Neither of which would necessarily be considered a spelling error in most places.

Again I ask what was misspelled in the picture in question, (not the one at the top of this post), not what word(s) were misused.

Now, now, my friend. You needn't worry at all.
There are those of us that enjoy doing the heavy lifting abroad so the peace & love crowd back home can flourish.

Lol I want.  Although that would probably kill me. Can't wait to get the 1045. I will once I'm able to acquire it,  either come up with a different exhaust, so if the oil leaks from the valve cover it wont land on a hot muffler. And be a potential fire hazard. Or just come up with an inconspicuous heat/drip shield.

Heh just found oit the 20hp on the one im getting is a thumper.

So this afternoon im parking my truck up and doing days paperwork.. I hear one of the other trucks coming in... But it sounds weird...
Im just another driver here, but ask other bloke whats that damn noise? he says its been scrabbling for traction all day and locking one axke under brakes every stop! He ain't sure about noise.
Take it for a quick spin around the block, I Can feel and hear the diffs, either a blown bearing in one of them letting the pinion rattle over the crown.. Or tbe pinion itself is rooted.
Come back to tell him whats up... Then.  Mate its your truck.  You better ring the boss and tell him its not in working condition!...
He looks at me and says you know how to explain it.  You ring!.. And jumps in his car and goes!

Not my fault or my truck... But... Im the bunny who's brave enough to just report this kinda thing!

Ring the boss.. Tell him..Ok no worries, we'll tow it to mechanic tmw. You sure?
Yep!.. Why didnt tbe other bloke ring? Dunno.. Ask him eh? Lol

Im fine with letting the boss know... But being left with "the bag" is my rant!

Scaredy Cats! Lol

Love You Always

In summertime, our love is frisky, like lilacs floating in the breeze.
In wintertime, our love is warm — it thrums from your exhaust to my toes.

If skies are blue, our love is skippy — a motorcycle, a person... laughing in the sun.
If thunder rolls our love is solitude, a refuge from the turning rain.

When spring flowers bloom, our love is bold, like silver petals on the tulips.
When autumn leaves fall, our love is aluminum, shining bright like a harvested engine.

From new years day till christmas our love will continue to thrive, my lovely.
From season to season I love you always! My one, my only, my suzuki.

Riding in today,..like everyday and traffic not too terrible.  For the most part I don't split on people when we're moving but I filter like it's an addiction.  So, somebody starts honking at me, flashing their lights, I'm thinking wtf maybe got a flat or axle nut about to fall off.  I don't see anything so split away from them.

Couple stop lights and hear some honking, look in mirror to see same car a few vehicles back honking and flashing.  wth  I roll into the next gas station to look over the bike, make sure my back pack isn't open.  Car comes in and lady rolls her window down, waving me over.

I'm :dunno_black: aw right let's see what this broad is talking about.  Go over and she starts in on how lane splitting is dangerous and I need to be respectful cause I'm a bike rider, and I'm not special,...etc etc all the typical aka 'i'm mad cause you cut in front of me' stuff that I've heard b4.

I let her talk and then ask her if she's ever been to CA, or MX or any Euro countries to which she says that she was raised in CA.  I say that ahh you must know the statistics of bike lane splitting safety to where she really loses it and starts spitting and yelling.  I politely tell her that we're not having much of a conversation but thank you for you opinion and go back to the bike,...

She was yelling something I dunno, but I followed her to purposely ride on the sidewalk then split again,... :icon_razz: :flipoff:

She'll probably try to kill me next time she sees me filtering :icon_lol:
