Title: 04 GS500f odd running noise
Post by: voorken on September 16, 2015, 02:25:26 PM
Hey all,

So I have had my GS500 for about a year and seems to run "ok" cleaned the carbs which helped a lot but can't seem to identify why it sounds odd when it is running. Have is a link to a video of it idling, https://youtu.be/3Jo6QF_7M3Q (https://youtu.be/3Jo6QF_7M3Q)  . Hope I can get some answers!

Keep the rubber side down,

Ken

It doesn't sounds too far off to me (unless my bike is messed up too!). Did you sync the carbs after cleaning?

I have an '04 that sounds exactly the same.  Has since I bought it earlier this year, but always runs/rides great.

I did not sync the carbs, here is a link to a longer video with some reeving  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4Ae4QeNNis (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4Ae4QeNNis), I feel like there is a rattle, maybe it is not a problem and I'm overthinking it.
Thank you both for responding!

Mine sounds the same. I think it may be a quirk of the parallel twin.
