My bike idles in neutral and revs as well, but when I put it in first gear (or any gear for that matter, even with the clutch depressed) I cant even rev it over 2k RPM.
If I try to take off, it immediately bogs down and shuts off.
Please, someone lend me some insight before I pull my hair out.

You can't put it in gear if sidestand is open, and if it's not, maybe sensor got bad.
Did you try adjusting the clutch? Seems like the obvious answer. If not that, what weight oil?

Sounds like something is out of whack with the air/fuel delivery. Does it rev normally in neutral and return quickly to a nice consistent idle? That is, it really only bogs under load?
Could be a clogged main jet? Maybe not if it revs fine in natural. Also, I know you said you just rebuilt the carb but its hard to perfectly rebuild the carb on your first try.
My other idea is that the float height set way too high (aka fuel level too low)? Or do I have that backwards? Any way...not enough fuel in the float bowls...use some fuel line on the carb drains and see if fuel height is level with the float bowl gasket.
Or you have a big vacuum leak. Is the stock airbox and air filter installed? Stock jetting? Have you checked the carb to engine intake boots and o-rings for pliability?
The way I read this, OP says it revs fine in neutral, but when in gear, and importantly, when stationary and the clutch pulled in, it will not rev above 2K rpm.
THAT is a dragging clutch.
If this the OP is talking about it won't rev when rolling down the road, but revs fine when sitting still (no load), then all of these carb/fuel related things others mention are on the list of things to check.
Wouldn't you feel the bike try to move forward as its bogging if the clutch was dragging enough to bog the engine?
A good test might be to put the bike on the center stand, start it up, and drop it into 1st gear with the clutch lever pulled in. If the rear wheel is racing then its probably a clutch adjustment issue. A little bit of movement on the rear wheel is normal.

Not if you hold the brake, especially the rear brake.

Or like sometimes on the audio forum I am on someone will be posting about a problem, and several people will help diagnose it. Then they'll make 1 post - I fixed it -and disappear. Not saying what the problem was or how they fixed it ...
