Title: Hanging idle...
Post by: Rob.N on October 12, 2015, 02:19:41 PM
I have a hanging idle problem. I have had this issue since I got the bike and have been unable to get it under control.

I have:

Cleaned the carbs out

Replaced all the vacuum lines

Rejetted the carbs and installed the K&N lunchbox filter

Replaced intake manifold boots

I just put the new intake boots on. When I put it all back together I still had the hanging idle issue. I sprayed the new intake boots with starter fluid and it dies immediately. Any ideas? I'm at a loss, I have read nearly all the posts on here about this issue and still can't solve it.

I can think of 2 things: have you replaced the orings in between the intake boots and cylinder head, and what about the small orings in the mixture screws?

Just checked them all. They are all there.

Hmmm..... maybe a leak around the fuel enrichment (choke) plungers? Or a small crack in / around the brass tubes for the fuel enrichment circuit?
