Title: Prepping engine for maintenance
Post by: Darkstar on November 02, 2015, 12:43:20 PM
I'll be opening up my engine to sync the carbs, check valves, jets, etc. I'll be doing this indoors, so i want to drain as much fuel as I can before I roll it in. I know I need to drain the carb bowls. Is there anything else I should do?

Fix any oil leaks, wash the bike well including the brakes and exhaust pipes.  Also know that draining the float bowls through the drain screw may leave some fuel behind,  you may want to pull the carbs while the bike is outside if you are sensitive to gas fumes.

Oh don't forget to drain the blinker fluid, too :-)
