I really don't like the style of the round headlight so I wanted to try and retrofit a 2004+ GS500F (http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUZUKI-GS500F-GS500-HEADLIGHT-HEAD-LIGHT-/191721911512?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368) headlight onto my bike and install a Halo kit inside.
Does anyone have any experience with doing this? If so, what advice could you give me?
Thanks for your time.

Thanks! Is there a tutorial on it, or do I just have to jerry-rig it on my own?
EDIT: Semi-related to the OP, but what about putting the F Fairings on a '97 E? Will that work?
Some people here have done it - in fact the whole fairing as well.
The hardest part is to get the rest of it to fit right - I did it the same way as the original and had a few fit issues on the bottom.
I'd not bother if I had to do it again - one of the draw backs of having a full on shop at your disposal.
Cool.
Buddha.
Guess you could do it, question is why?
Most of the price difference between older E's and F's actually is the fairing, the rest (if any) is worth it for "newer" parts.
Honestly, I just like the way the fairings look. I might just end up getting the F-style headlight, and paint the body. Might put just the front cowl on after that, not sure yet.
Some wanker on here put a snowmobile headlight on his gs. I think you can make anything work if you really want to,...

You should search around for an Acerbis style(or other aftermarket) headlight. Would be much easier to mouth with your current mounting tabs, but get you closer to the style you're looking for.

You are a champion of the people. Just saw this (http://www.acerbis.com/prodotto_detail.php?idp=786) and immediately I wanted one.
Thank you so much.
