Title: Sticky front brake switch
Post by: lucas on January 02, 2016, 04:00:56 PM
Hey guys, I'm having an issue with my brake light staying on after releasing the front brake lever.  It seems like the brake master cylinder isn't pushing hard enough to return the lever and press it against the switch.

Have you guys had this problem and how did you fix it?  Should I shim the area that pushes against the switch?  Do I need a new master cylinder?

Has the actual lever enough slack to be freely moved up and down...it should be around 1/8"(2mm) at it's end,so the movement won't bind.

I've had the exact same problem, I had to get it rebuilt. There just was a lot of gunk in there. There are some rebuild kits by 'all balls' on ebay.

Does the lever seem to move freely enough?  I had a similar issue at one point with mine, but I just took the lever off, put some white lithium grease on all contact points, reinstalled and it worked perfectly.
