My rear tyre needed replacing so I took the back wheel off myself and had a new tyre fitted. I put the back wheel back on but it seems stiffer to turn after I have tightened up the axle nut, stiffer than I have ever had it before. Alignment by the swing-arm notches looks good. chain is aligned by laser and it's tension is good. Rides fine. Except I have an uneasy feeling I am somehow crushing the bearings. Haynes manual advises a rear axle nut tightening force of 60 to 90Nm. I tightened it to 65Nm, but it's still stiff compared to how freely it spins with the axle nut loose. Also after a test ride with no rear brakes being used I find that the rear rotor is warm, indicating that the pads are touching. Any advice appreciated.
Are u sure u put everything back exactly as it was removed?

BTW...i don't bother with torque settings on external components, just use common sense.
There is something wrong....Don't ride the bike again until you figure out what the problem is. The wheel should turn freely.
Disc pads do touch disc... normal
Make sure you have spacer 9 inside cush drive bearing, it frequently gets lost when removing rear sprocket from wheel.

I agree with this, the rear disc brakes may be skimming and slowing the wheel if not put in the brake rotor perfectly when installing the wheel.
Missing a spacer can cause bearings to get squeezed. Yes.
But, You sure you're not hitting the brake stay with the wheel ??
The tire is fatter than before ? Your axle is about at the same torque as before - I believe its 50 lb ft. Check and make sure. You don't want to be crushing the swingarm shut - and yea spacers being awol - can let the axle crush the swingarm and ruin the bearings at the same time.
Cool.
