I decided to strip the extra bits off my 2005 GS before setting it as stock.
These are the side racks to mount hard cases on. Been used for less than a year, great shape, no damage. Comes with all the hardware and my instructions which are, frankly, better than those that came with it. They are great racks, very solid. I just bought a new bike and before even picking the bike up I ordered Hepco Becker racks for it.

GLWS. I can vouch for these racks being the absolute best side racks for the GS.
Add the rear rack and a set of cases and you have enough capacity to tour two-up.
