Title: GS500F Belly Pan w/ Stock Fairings?
Post by: Tekime on April 05, 2016, 12:39:14 PM
Struggling to find a belly pan for my 2005 GS500F. I've searched high and low but no luck.

I want a belly pan that holds 3+ quarts and meets basic fire hazard rules for track. I'd also like one that can work with the stock fairings on a GS500F. I know that's probably a tall order, but does anything like that exist?

I'm thinking about trying to modify the existing fairings, or make a custom belly pan w/ fiberglass and cutting the lower portion of the stock fairings and trying to match it up..

My goal is to make my GS track-ready but still be able to easily convert to/from street.

Thoughts?! Psychic predictions?! Anyone? Thanks!

I'm not sure if anything for an F exists but woah when I checked on ebay for "gs500 belly pan" it brought up some results that were more expensive than I thought they would be !

I've always loved to plan out and make custom things... so if it was me, I'd go the fiberglass route and come up with something totally unique !!

Yeah, and all the eBay ones require fairing removal, at which point I'll probably want to swap the nose, at which point I might as well swap the front end with a gixxer.. ;)

I'm leaning the DIY route, but I'm starting to think about separating the fairings so I have better engine/inspection access but don't totally sacrifice the fairings, which I like.

Add to the list of 5,000 projects I'm already "planning" this summer :)
