My first GS500 came with a motor that ran out of oil (at 4000 miles!! :cookoo:) and was allegedly knocking. I've had this motor sitting my my garage ever since. I want to get rid of it, but I also wanted to see what it looked like inside, so I took it apart. Everything looks perfect inside, except the rod bearings are TRASHED. The crank rod journals looks a little scorched, but feel good. The side covers are not in great shape.
Long story short, these parts are available for basically free. I'm located in Salt Lake City, UT and if you come get them, they're free. If I have to box it and ship it, I'll just charge a couple $$ for shipping materials, and the shipping charge. Let me know what you want, and I'll take a picture of it. Limited time offer, so hurry!
got carbs and if so what year?
no carbs, no starter, just the engine/transmission
I might be interested in both camshafts. No rush though since I have to wait a week and a half for payday. Seriously - take your time.
What year is it? Silver or black engine paint? How does the head and inside of the cylinders look?
I may be interested in the cylinder jugs on up. Just to have as a spare. My bike has 35,000 miles on it so a head with 4000 would probably burn less oil.
So jugs, head, cam chain tensioner (if it works properly), valve cover. If all in good condition, PM me with how much it would be for boxing and shipping.
Silver paint, I want to say its a 2004 but I don't remember. I'll take pictures when I get home. I remember it looking nearly new

Might be getting in line for the cylinder head....
Hi, how much do you think it would cost to ship the transmission shafts with the forks and the selector cylinder? My zip is 91381. Thanks for making your parts available to the community!
These parts minus the things in the lower left hand corner

I'll try and get a shipping quote on monday. I've been dealing with a blown transmission in the corolla... And no problem! I almost dropped it off at the recyclers, but it seemed like such a waste
I'll take the cylinders if you still have them! Shipped to 55407
Do you still have the magneto rotor? If so, how much shipped to 98075? Thanks.

Just the rotor itself and not the electronics? Yes, but IIRC it is pretty rusty. I'll post up a pic later
Payment sent for parts

Here's the rotor.
Anyways, the trans parts are paid for and boxed, and the heads/cylinders/clutch are paid for and 90% boxed. I'll post up a picture of what I have left later tonight
Cylinders, heads, transmission gears, and stator have all shipped! Hopefully I'll get an updated list of what I still have later tonight.
Well, time to ride home in the rain!
Here are the rest of the parts. If you don't see it, I don't have it. Let me know soon before it ends up as scrap!

Can I have the pistons? Shoot me a PM with the price to Chicago, 60661.
Thanks!
Looking for the left side stator cover. If the stator is in good shape then Ill take that too. Let me know what you charge shipped to 17043 PA.
Pistons shouldn't be too expensive to ship, I'll get a quote tomorrow.
Stator is gone and I didn't realize it was so rough, but the stator cover is chewed up and actually cracked, so you probably don't want it. Sorry!
I got the transmission shafts, thanks!
I got the top end and stator. All very well packaged, thanks!

Sorry it's taking a bit, the internet has been down at work, and I'd be shipping through them. Hopefully it'll be back up soon!

Hi There,
Very interested in the crankshaft counter balancer, would you be willing to ship to Canada? Thanks.
Yes, and a friend of mine (who is canadian) is headed up there in a couple weeks, so he may be able to smuggle it across the border for cheaper shipping (if that's a thing), near Calgary.
Ha ha while thats a great idea I am in Ontario, close to Toronto. Let me know what the shipping would be to Trenton, Ontario, postal code K8V1W1 ( Canadian zip code...lol). Your help is greatly appreciated thanks!
One of the head studs got welded to the gate support bracket on my fence. Final bump before it gets recycled!
freeforme, I'm not recycling the counterbalance, so don't worry!
Just wanted to say thanks, I received the pistons a week or two ago, packed well.
How much for the ' round' cover which says Suzuki on the throttle side:
(https://s31.postimg.org/r0wd6is4n/GS500_Cover.jpg) (https://postimg.org/image/r0wd6is4n/)
With shipping to 20109 and I have highlighted in Red. Thanks

Sorry, I'm apparently not getting notifications again. Anyways, the cover is trashed, you don't want it.
Hey freeforme, I still have the counterbalance shaft packaged up under my desk!
Dude, any chance you got a tachometer drive?
