Gorgeous - the before I meant.
I'd have found a 05 was it or some other year maybe 02 I think with the blue tail and swapped that.

The seat is awesome though. Didn't know they made those for the 01+

Anyway that's just me.

Cool.

Quite expensive but worth the money. Really comfortable and its lowered about an inch from the original.

Top Sellerie, or some other brand? I've been thinking about getting the gel and raised option. Close to $400 all said and done though.

Top sellerie.
I had it done in the winter so i sent then my seat so it was alot less expensive but took really long , about 2 months...

It is really worth it though, i took gel and lowered option and it makes a huge difference. Confort level is way better then stock seat !
As a bonus it looks amazing, i get comments all the time for it..

well done amanda .. i love the clean all black look and that seat is dope .. i have an 07 black and metalic grey .. i removed the decals and was seriously thinking about blacking out the gas tank & windscreen to match .. i come to find out the decals on the gas tank have clear coat over then and dont come off without serious effort .. if i had a bigger budget id do the turn signals and handlebars; but maybe in the future .. very nice custom GS !! :icon_lol:

That looks magnificent! While I'm not a fan of "matte black" bikes, yours certainly looks sharp! Well done!

Ya  im thinking about doing the handlebars too. I think id look awsome but it seems a little complicated for my skill level! :/ if u do it, i d love to see how it turns out.

As for the tank, its a real pain trying to sand it evenly with those decals under the gloss layer! I basically just lightly sanded it so the paint would stick. It actually looks pretty cool. Its embossed, looks like the tank was made like that

It's getting real popular to rag on matte black bikes

When you've had a bike that the PO painted so horribly that way, then you'll understand. LOL!  :thumb:

did you drill through the frame behind the fairing ? how do you route the wire without cuting holes ?

Well I didnt drill a seperate hole, I just made one of the original holes slightly bigger so i could pass the two wire s and connect the flasher.

i never thought about that but i guess it wld look badass with a embossed all black tank .. thanks for the tip as i might go that route !!
And as far as ppl bashing all black paint schemes .. its just a matter of opinion .. i love murdered out paint jobs .. they look super clean when done properly as yours is .. what else are u gonna do ? any performance mods in ur plans ? you should do the bars for sure tho  :)

ya definatley took my time with the paint. didn't want it too look like an amateur job. youre right tho its all about taste, either love it or hate it, I'm just one of those people who love it. :D

the bars are in the works, definatly gna be done this summer!
as for performance id love to mod it but honestly I don't even know where to start. I really have no knowledge for that stuff . If you have tips , id love to hear them, id probably buy the parts and bring it too a mechanic !! I'm opened all suggestions

i dont have any tips .. I'm guessing you're more knowledgeable than me .. so where did u get the seat ? and is it specifically made for GS500 ?
i seen eBay had some very similar for like $500 ..

lol okay well then ill look through the forum for some ideas !

the seat is from top sellerie, its custom made for the gs500. you chose the colors and material you want and they build the seat for you. its pretty neat. they go for about 400 so I definatly suggest this site before ebay if youre willing to spend that much money!

Sick bike. Very clean. Now you just have to replace that heinous goblin on the front with a round headlight and then you'll have something (joking). The blue accents you had/have planned would really set it off too (levers, chain, etc).

Did you have to remove the center stand to put that on? I can't tell from the pictures. Also, did you rejet the carbs? How is it running?
