Just wondering if there's a supplier in the UK? Or is Sonic Springs my best bet?, just wanted to avoid expensive postage cost.
i live in the uk and have been looking aswell
Hagon do progressive springs for the GS, i was lucky enough to buy some forks which had progressive springs fitted, waiting to go onto my project bike. I am in the UK as well but lucky enough to go to the states at least once a year. so i pick up a lot of parts then as its a lot cheaper than here in the UK.
heres the link to the hagons. not a crazy price to be honest.

Do you think they'd fit a 2002?
If they are for a gs500 then I think they should fit any year?... but someone say otherwise if not please!
All years are the same.
Springs and fresh oil make a pretty big difference if you weigh over 170 lbs
I weigh 154 lbs.. is it not worth doing then?
Still will improve the handling/ride under spirited riding conditions! .. even lightweight folk can bottom out the suspension with heavy braking or sharp bumps/potholes....
The stock springs are pretty woeful!..
Put a heavy fork brace with the spring upgrade. .. and eventually an r6 rear shock and you'll love it! :thumb:

If your going to keep your bike for awhile these mods are advisable.
Does anyone know what the stock spring rate is? I was always under the impression that the GS suspension was designed for a 150 lb rider. I think an R6 shock and progressives would be too stiff. Seems like everyone who upgrades the suspension is 170 lbs or more.

The stock fork springs are less then 0.60kg/mm, which is good for someone in the 70-100lb range. Not too many people on here meet that criteria. :)
I don't know what Progressive offers for the GS500, but Sonic Springs come in a range of rates so the virtually anyone can get exactly what they need.
Other companies like Race-Tech and Traxxion also offer springs in a variety of rates.
