Hi there everyone!
Great to see such a great forum for such a great bike. Never had so much fun on a bike...
That's why I've keeping it for such a long time, but now it needs some attention.
I'd like to have the wheels powdercoated in the same kind of grey as the front fork.
But then the question: does anyone know what kind of grey/silver number this is? RAL code?
It's a 1993 GS...
Wonder if anyone could have some info...
Thank you anyway, enjoy the rides & take care of the GS's
Jo
Hi TeamSky1975 and welcome to the site!
Glad you like the GS and the forum so much :D
Are you talking about the silver paint on the forks? I am not sure how to find out the exact color of them so hopefully someone else will reply if they know...
BUT I know my forks have a few marks on them here... and there and I don't know if yours are like that or not... but if it was me, I'd consider picking a similar silver color and getting the forks done at the same time as the wheels !! That way they would all match and the forks would have a fresh coat of durability :thumb:
Just a thought!! Also do you have any pics of your ride? We love pics
Are the forks even painted? Or is it just the natural color of the aluminum or whatever?
ShowBiz might be on the right track, could be worth just painting the forks the same color while you're painting the wheels...
Powdercoat everything! ;)
Unfortunately, I had to sell my very first GS500... You know: young, stupid and in need of money... :embarrassed: But a while ago I saw a GS in the neighborhood. It didn't run for 5-6 years but looked good and it had exact the same colors as my very first one...

So I had to take care of the carburetors, spark plugs, etc... In the meantime I fitted a K&N lunchbox filter and adjusted the carb settings. I also fitted a Megaton exhaust and made everything work nicely together...
Right now I have the wheels and the fuel tank repainted and I'm trying to clean up everything as good as possible...
Taking down some parts of the engine (to clean), I noticed that the front gear slightly damaged the drive shaft...
I here that people have Gs's with very high mileage, do they have the same problem?
Anyone else having this kind of problem? And what to do about it?
