Title: Free spinning sound after adjusting clutch cable
Post by: nuclearfenix on May 13, 2016, 09:00:19 PM
At first it was making a sound like what Adidasguy (rest in peace) shows in this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxS5yZ44AHU

So I adjusted loosened the clutch cable at the gear box end and It started. I went for a short ride because the clutch didn't feel right, it was almost in the fully out position before it started to grab, so I adjusted it back. Now it's making a free whirring sound, like it's just spinning. I'm assuming following this video will fix the problem or do the symptoms mean something completely broken? I have time tomorrow to take it apart but if something is completely broken it's gonna be a couple weeks before I can get to it.

Found this video, this is exactly what is happening. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wP8UeGN47o&feature=g-upl

That is the sound of a loose magneto rotor.  That it happened shortly after adjusting the clutch is just a coincidence.

Got it all fixed, took the case off and then tightened the bolt. All is good. Thank you.
