Title: Tubes and hoses from airbox
Post by: G.Rossman on June 26, 2016, 04:09:56 AM
Planning to put the K&N lunch box on and I was looking at it last night.  Where do the tubes that went to the stock box, two or three of them, now go?  Plugged off?

There are at least two that are vents and not connected to anything

Do I need to clamp off the larger line that went to the top of the stock box?  Or is leaving it open okay to do?

I think leaving it open it ok.  I've heard other people talk about small amounts of oil coming out of that hose but mine has been disconnected for six months now and it's still dry.

I don't think you want to cap it off as it serves as a vent for crank case pressure.  If anything you could put a PCV (one way valve) on it just make sure you've got it on the right way round.

I'll see about doing that or maybe a small cheapo valve cover breather / filter.

FWIW I've got one of these (http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=62-1320) on the breather hose. Came with the bike, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but seems like it might be better than leaving it directly open.
