Hey guys I'm taking over a friends account and I just wanted to say that I have picked up a 2009 gs500f.
the bike overall is not in bad condition. I have put on new bars and grips. The bike does need an exhaust as the last person thought it would be cool to cut it off. Also the speedo light is out but I never ride at night not a huge deal but it bugs me.
Look forward to learning to ride on this bike because so far it is a blast!!
Good deal bud. I have an 08 GSF and love riding it. Speedo light is easy to fix. Loosen the two nuts on the backside of the housing, unscrew the speedo cable, pull the speedo out the front of the housing, change the bulb, reassemble. They are so simple, change the oil when it starts to shift crappy which is about every 2 to 3000 miles, at least on mine anyway. Ride safe, always expect every car is going to pull out in front of you, and have fun.

Congrats on the bike!! Yes having any dash lights out would bug me too :technical:
Have any pictures to share with us? Welcome to the forum and hope you enjoy your GS for a long time
Throw in some LED bulbs for the speedo and tach....I like red!

I agree with Cookie...!! LED's are a great idea. I have one blue and one red and I also put LED bulbs in the neutral, high beam and oil indicator sockets as well.

I installed LED's today. Blue in the gauges and colored LED's in the indicator sockets minus the turn signal.
Unable to upload a picture... but thanks guys! I will look into the led bulbs! went on my first ride with my buddies yesterday down to Oxford Ohio and back and it was fun got to hit a few turns and get to feel the bike. I just need and exhaust the bike is so loud I wish they didn't cut it but I think I will try and just pick up a stock one, I see a few for around $80 so its not to bad in price at all.
