Title: Engine shut off
Post by: Fatasianboy on July 19, 2016, 06:14:59 PM
My mother backed her car... That I have installed a backup camera, into my bright red GS today. It fell over on the left side. My bar end, luggage rack, engine cover and peg took the fall so thankfully the paint is okay. But now I start the engine in neutral with clutch in and it starts up fine. But as soon as I put it in gear first or second, the bike kills itself. In neutral the bike will idle fine and rev up and all but as soon as I put it into gear it's as if I hit the engine kill switch. I have disabled the clutch and side stand safety switches on my bike so those aren't the issue. It seems like something grounds or shorts the ignition to shut off whenever i put it into gear or something. Do you Guys have any suggestions?

Sounds like the sidestand switch still.. maybe the wires from that got pulled and shorted? ... cutting out when you put in gear is that circuits function!
