Bike is new to me I have not ridden it yet. I'm about 195lbs. The suspension feels soft, it has less then 7000 miles on the bike. Any suggestions to firm this up and make it a much sportier feel?

I'm sure people will reply with all kinds of info (or maybe not... cuz this stuff is all over the site) but many people upgrade the front springs and fork oil and/or swap out the rear shock with a Katana one or an R6 one.
It depends on your weight, style of riding, etc. I am trying to remember what I've read in the past... but I'm thinking others around your weight have upgraded both the springs and the shock...? I'm thinkingggg lol...
I'm needing to get back to work right now LOL but if I have time later I can dig up the link to that thread I started a while back where people shared their stats and what they did to the suspension on their GS to make it comfy for them :thumb:
R6 rear shock, make sure all your swingarm bushes etc are in good order also.
Sonic springs up front with clean fork oil... (and check your other fork internals) I'm thinking maybe .80 or .85 spring rate.. but their website has an online calculator for your particular needs. Also ask our resident Sonic springs man. .. you around mate? @RichDesmond

I'm 6'2" 235 and I recently purchased an 09 with 5600 miles on it. The suspension is way too soft...
I upgraded to Sonic .95 springs, replaced the fork oil to 15WT with a 120mm gap. Only rode it once so far and it feels a little too stiff, I'm hoping it softens up just a tad bit. me. I spent about 3-4 weeks researching on this site and picked up a Haynes manual before doing it all myself. It took me about 3-4hrs and I'm a novice when it comes to this stuff. It was pretty easy all in all.
I have an R6 shock which I will install soon, once work settles down and I get through some of this Grad School HW.

I would recommend .85 sonic springs with 15w fork oil, one of the solid aluminum fork braces and an R6 shock. I'm around your weight with .90 springs and the katana shock and both are a little too stiff for casual rising.
I'd say I'm going to be a bit aggressive but not knee dragging at this point. Lol.
Thanks for the link I will take a look. I was going to do the r6 got a little turned off when they started grinding away on stuff.
I still want to try and fix this peg area where it bent on the frame mount point area if I can it just annoys me more then anything.
