Ok so i finally tore the bike apart today after thinking about it all winter.
Well I wanna do everything but money and the wife dictate that I can only do some right now.
I want to do chain and sprockets for one, but I also want to get the cobra f1r slipon and probably K&N pods too. I'm thinking I'll probably do the exhaust and pods now, since the carbs are out of the bike and ready for rejetting.
I guess my real question is, the chain and sprockets have a little life left in them., probably not a whole riding seasons worth, but I think I could sneak those in a little later on.
Anyone out there running the pods and the f1r pipe? I definitely can't spring for the vance and hines full system right now.

Chimivee (James) has pods with a F1S system and his bikes seems to run pretty well (I'm sure he can answer better than I can though!). As for mods, do the suspension first, then the motor. Also, if you want a full system try checking around on various road-race web forums and/or salvage yards. You might be surprised at what you'll find.

On a related note, what's the difference besides appeerance in the F1R and the F1S slipons?

like adam said, do the suspension like the rear shock and progressive front springs...since you got your carbs for rejjeting also get the k&n filter and keep the stock exhaust (for now) if you arn't going for very big main jets...do the front sprocket and chain if your rear sprocket is in good shape...rear sprockets are more expensive

never replaced a rear sprocket. It only makes sense that the rear sprocket will wear more slowly than the front one - it makes
less than half the number of revolutions.
I didn't replace my rear sprocket when I replaced my front one several thousand miles ago. Wait until you can detect a bit of a "hook" to the teeth...which may never happen.
Well i've had both Cobra slip ons at some point. The F1R is a louder pipe i thought..especially in a high rev. The F1S sounds a bit more muffled but definitely is louder than the stock pipe.
