So I'm finally getting around to checking the valve clearances on my little. 07 GS project bike.
I've scoured Amazon but the filter says none of them work with my GS.
Anybody got a motion pro part number or another brand part number?
Or is there a way to change shims without the tool?
Also is there a way to measure the slack on the cam chain? I have the valve cover off and it seems tight but is there a way to check to see if it is in spec or not?

There are ways to do it without the tool...but why?

I made a shim tool out of a bit of aluminium flat stock (which was out of an old backpack, iirc). It essentially looked like gsJack's top tool.
I can post a picture if there's any interest. Took 10min with a hacksaw and file to get it smooth. Worked a treat.
The MP suzuki tool works perfectly if you use it correctly. It is not hard to use correctly.
