Post by: dowdy80 on August 08, 2016, 08:12:41 AM
Just a quick question for you gstwinners, I have a 96 gs500e and I'm in need of a front brake calliper, would any gs500 calliper work eg a K4?

Its just I can get my hands on a k4 calliper for next to nothing, I just need to know if the newer model callipers bolt on the the older forks, thanks though mate.

I think brake calipers are interchangeable for all years, front and rear.  I put like new 09 calipers on my 02 GS after 90k+ miles of year around riding here in NE Ohio, much salt water in winter  There was an internal design change on the front calipers around 96 but they still bolted on the same as I recall.
