Title: Fork question
Post by: Kolederacer on August 18, 2016, 01:42:34 PM
So a little back ground on the project,
I am rebuilding a 97 GS500 from the ground up.
I happened to get a complete front end off of a (not sure what year) bandit. It has the welded triple on the bottom.
The problem here is i would really like to keep standard bars and stay away from clip-ons.

So my question is, is there a triple clamp set that would allow me to do this with the 41mm forks?
It would be even better if i was able to press in the GS stem and not have to worry about machining a stem and spacers to work.

Thanks for the help.
Also i know some year gsxr swing arm and rear wheels will work but its there a rear that is wide enough to run 150s without the whole swing arm. Making spacers here is fine.

Thanks,
Kole

!50/70 Roadattack tire on stock 3.5" rear wheel. Adequate clearance all around except it touched brake torque bar which required a little bend for clearance.

150/60 will keep the diameter a bit closer to the original if that's what you want. Also a bit lighter and available in a few more quality brands and types.

I don't think he's after clip ons.

Yeah, the Bandit has a standard handlebar as far as I know. If the bandit front end you have has clip ons, it at the very least isn't a stock bandit front end.

Def agree with Buddha here. You sure the FE you have isn't a Katana FE and not a Bandit FE?
