Title: High beam indicator turns on with low beam, off with high beam selected?
Post by: GFsGS on August 27, 2016, 08:58:28 AM
Hey guys, new to the forum, got a bit of a head scratcher. My girlfriends GS seems to have an odd gremlin, when the low beam is on the High Beam indicator light is on, when you switch to the high beam the light goes off? Is it possible the switch is wired backwards? Thanks in advance.

Are you certain that the wiring has never been messed with?

It is certainly possible, it is a used bike that I have limited knowledge of it's history, there doesn't seem to be any hacking of the wiring, but like I said it is possible.

While anything is possible, the wiring to the switch isn't easily messed up. Either at the switch, or the wiring harness. Does the high beam filament come on with the low beam switch setting and vice versa?

Find yourself a wiring diagram and start checking the wiring - you'll find the problem pretty quick.
