Title: Does anyone know what the current flow for the bike is?
Post by: Ghostmoner on August 27, 2016, 11:24:51 PM
Does anyone know what kind of amperage reading I should be getting when the ignition is on and the engine off? I'm trying to find out whether my stator or another part of the bike is causing an earth leak or something similar. I've tested the bike with ignition on and engine off, standard headlight and no blinkers etc. The bike is pulling around 4.8Amp, though I can't guarantee the accuracy. Can anyone tell me what the standard measurement should be roughly? I've Googled my heart out and can't find anything.

Cheers,
David

I would use Ohms law.

4.8A at 12V equates to a load of 57.6W

Headlamp is rated 55/60W so you are more or less bang in the ballpark  :thumb:
